Tony H
I've not but I have considered buying one. All I can say for Pegasus kits is they tend to be slightly on the heavy side and I would recommend tring to lighten where possible. I currently have or have had 5 of Pegasus kits and so far all fly well. Wasp, Jester, Magician, Wizard and now Twin Hornet (as of yet I've not flown this one yet). Tony H
No problem Gav.I used to be like that build a brick in case of a crash. You are better off building to fly giving you a low stall speed and less chance of a crash. Plus less inertia in a crash because of less weight. Good luck with the build. Please let us know how you get on with it and how she Flys.
Old Geezer
I'd forgotten about Pegasus kits (previously Galaxy). My first power model was a Galaxy Escort, lovely flier with a pre-owned OS Max 25, tough as old boots too, taught me loads. I subsequently built and flew their Spatman, which brought out the worst in me every time I flew it! I've just had a peek at their site and I'm now thinking very seriously about their Wasp as this year's Winter Hack. Mind you - the Pepperpot ( Stan Yeo / Phoenix Models. ) might be a candidate too. Sorry, gone off piste a bit, but trad' British manufacturers deserve more support than they get most of the time.
Gavin D
Yes Gurth I agree British manufactures should get our support in all things not only our hobby. Pegasus Models deserve a mention here I ordered my Phasar at 2.30 Tues it arrived at my door 1.00 the next day and that was by road not drone. Only had chance to look in the box and what I've seen is very good well made wings and other foam parts laser cutting is crisp and not over heated all parts numbered with a 37 page guide with photos and a half size plan Tony now I have the kit the dry weight is given as 5.5Kg all up so with a 1.20 we should be ok if I can resist adding bits Gav
Tony H
That's good hope the build goes well Gav.Gurth, I would highly recommend the Wasp I reviewed it on this website in reviews section and on Pegasus website. I found a .25 was a little on the weak side for it. I'm currently running it with a .36 Irvine which gives it plenty of power. I've now had it 3 years and it's a tough little plane.
