Hanger 9 Value series

I have recently completed this model and would like to share my findings.
The kit comes nicely packed and wrapped and on first sight appears to be of reasonable quality bearing in mind that it is one of the 'Value Series'.
The instructions are good and the model goes together quite quickly. My kit however suffered from two major problems the first being the covering to the wings.
The material used appears to be pre-printed 'sticky backed plastic' for want of a better description and in my sample was loose and badly wrinkled and sagging.
Applying a heat gun pulled it taught but as soon as the heat was removed the material sagged and the wrinkles returned. After several attempts to cure the problem I resorted to stripping the whole wing and ailerons and recovering in Solarspan and trim to match the original colour scheme.
The second problem was one of the ply formers towards the rear of the fuselage had become unglued. As the only way in was through the wing mounting aperture below the fuselage it was quite an adventure relocating and resticking the former with the aid of long bits of stiff wire and dollops of glue on a stick!
In spite of the above the kit makes up into a decent looking model. I fitted a ASP52 four stroke and it made its maiden flight a few days ago. It flew straight off the ground and no trimming was required apart from adding a bit of exponential to the ailerons. It flies beautifully which makes up for all the original problems which may have been just in my kit and I recommend it without reserve.
