J V R
I took the +30% fling wing out this morning for its maiden flight, I was a bit nervous about the first flight as when I flew the normal sized one it would keep torque rolling & dive into the ground, it only had one flight before it was damaged beyond repair. The +30% version was only built because I had enough wood from another build left over. The plans were put into a photo copier that had a facility to zoom & the final figure was made buy increasing the size until the sections of wood for the wing were 4’’. The motor is a BL 2217 950Kv swinging a 10x5 prop The launch was made with just under half throttle & it sank a little then picked up speed and climbed up to a safe height just needing a little down trim, I then just made a few circuits and tested out the slow speed handling and found it to be very stable, on the next few flights I never got around to flying it more than half throttle, it was nice to just potter around the sky with a nice quite plane on an early Sunday morning.
