Neil67
Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere. Max Thrust Riot brand new (gift) but has been in it's box for 18 months. Assembled and all well everthing working with full throttle response. Maiden flight, just before lift off motor appeared to cut. Landed with no nose over. On checking model throttle response now sporadic pulsing, and then nothing. Tried rebinding no change. Tried different motor same result. Changed everything except esc, ie receiver and motor, servos (althought all original servoes are fine). Does this sound like a program fault ie esc needs reprogramming, if so not sure how, no instructions in box. Or is it simply a bad esc. Any advice welcomed. If new esc any recommendations on what to buy.
Bob Cotsford
Have you tried a different battery? If that can't hold it's voltage at full throttle it will cause the esc to shut the power down, then as the battery voltage rises under the reduced load the esc switches power back to the motor, voltage drops, esc cuts power etc. ad infinitum. Dave Hopkin
If the motor is stuttering thats often a symptom of a poor connection on one of the three motor leads - check them first It might be a loose bullet connector fit or a poor solder joint on one of the leads Thats assuming that when the motor cut out in flight all the other channels were working properly If you lost control surfaces too would be worth checking the ESC battery plug for a bad joint After that I would start off by swopping out the ESC
