Bertie Thomson
Hi guys! I’m new to this site and fairly new to the tv plane scene. I’ve recently got my hands on a 2008 ParkZone mustang that’s hasnt flown for about 9 years! So as you’d imagine the battery isn’t at its prime anymore. It’s running a 3 cell 1500 but I wanted to know the best battery to replace that with? It’s all other standard parts in the plane too. Any help/feedback would be greatly appreciated 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👊🏼 Many Thanks and happy flying Bertie
Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
Hi Bertie & welcome to the forum. I personally am not familiar with that model but I'm sure someone will be along in a while who is. Perhaps you could give the physical size of the battery.....this might help define a replacement battery for you.

Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
Something like this might do the job for you.... It comes with an XT60 connector rather than the EC3 one you specified but this can be changed. What are your soldering skills like?
Bertie Thomson
Well! I’d say non existent 😂 But thanks for the advice 👍🏼 Would most replacements need soldering to fit? As I said I’m very new to this and still getting my head around everything! Far to many choices
Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
If you can find a battery with an EC3 connector then clearly the problem goes away but it might be worth changing the connector in the model so you can use commonly available batteries.....failing that there are converters available to swap from one connector to another.. see here There are indeed many ways of doing things & a lot to learn....a lot comes down to personal preference...there are very few "right" or "wrong" choices...... Do have a surf around the site...especially in the beginners sections & I'm sure a lot of your questions will be answered....those that aren't ask away....literally centuries of experience available on this forum...
