Kit Carson
Help please, I would like to build a electric autogiro for indoor flying, can anyone help me with a plan, the only plans I have found are all powered by an ic engine. Can I use a electric instead. Any info would be useful at this stage.
Owen Hailey
Hi Kit.I to have been tempted to try an auto giro, and for what it is worth the reason they go for ic is more a power to weight thing, as they are a bit power hungry, as the full ward flit gives them lift so it seams, there is a lot of stuff on the net about the way they fly and ideas, so maybe this will give you a starting block to build on, and the chance to build an electric power one is no out of the question as I have seen the odd one or two flying very well, hope this gives you some help as there is quite a few of them about.good luck Owen. Ben Mullins
HI Kit, Why not try the DB sport and scale autogyro, all their kits are very well made and could easily be converted to electric. At 46" wingspan it might be a bit big for indoors though.
Owen Hailey
Hi ben This is one of the things that has stopped me going for one, as I do all my flying in a factory and that sort of rota would be out of the question but I think it could bee scaled down to half that size it may be possible to go electric, who knows.happy builder Owen. Richard Sharman
Kit, RCM&E January 2006 contains a freeplan and article for "Twirl" -- a 9oz, 2 rotor, electric autogyro, 30" span driven by 50W outrunner on a 700maH 3s1p Lipo. It's shown flying outdoors, but is stated as a possible for indoors.

Richard Sharman
Best route is to phone up the number given in the magazine and order a back issue. When I did this recently they were very quick.
