Harvey Needham
Having just come back from the 2008 Nats, I finally managed to get to the spectical which is the FREE FLIGHT, Free for all ... it was Chaos, exciting, felt dangerous, but above all one of the best ways of spending a Sat evening. So me and a few pals have decided that next year we will be bringing our own creations along to join in the fun and games, and this is where the problem lies. None of us have been in the hobby long enough to know where to start (having grown up on R/C). So my request is that RCM&E does a small series on starting out in FREE FLIGHT, maybe looking at the power source options (I favour the diesel option myself), what type of model to start with and move on to, and then how to trim and fly the models. I wonder whether Alex W would be the man for the job ??? I look forward to hearing back, Harvey

David Ashby - Moderator
As Eric says, it is a outside the scope a bit. We always report from the Free Flights Nats every year but we have to be careful we don't over do it. Harvey, why not try Sams models or Ben Buckle kits?
