I have built four depron models up to 60" wingspan using this system and it works really well. (I hate tape). I use 1mm nylon string from ebay and 5 minute epoxy. I also stiffen the edges of the control surfaces with strips of 2mm light ply which keeps them nice and straight. I adopted the method after I saw this video on utube.
