Devcon1
A few pics from a visit to the Lincolnshire Aviation Musem. The taxy ride in Just Jane was a truly memorable experience last week, listening to the four Merlins start up and do their stuff was pure joy. I've been to most of the UK aviation museums but given the history behind the purpose of this one it has a very special feeling about it. East Kirkby only operated for two years, the truly awfull loss of life by 57 and 630 Squadrons puts into sharp relief the intensity of operations from the airfield. Over 800 airmen lost their lives in those two years from both Squadrons. The museum is a very poignant reminder of what happened in those difficult times. Well worth visiting. Was also lucky enough to see the Mosquito start up and taxy the following day.
