Robert Reeves
Hi folk, A friend has kindly donated his Keil Kraft Ivory Gull model to me, however it is missing the tail section, and I cannot find any plans online for love nor money. Does anybody have the tail section plans please? I found this on here but nothing else; **LINK**
John Pace
Hi Robert I had one of these for many years ,i don't think that there was a proper plan as such as the model was nearly ARTF ,the fin pivoted on a plastic bolt in the rear slot in the fuselage The chord of the rudder about the same as the length of the slot for the front part of the fin ,at a guess the fin was about 8 inches high ,i think the tail plane was about 24 inch in span quite thin sheet 1/8 inch i think.Great fun to fly. Grainy photo here about 1975 or 6. John
John Pace
Hi Robert Found another photo you may be able to estimate the relative sizes of the fin and rudder with reference to the slot in this slightly better view. As i recall the top of the fin had a platform attached to the fin with a couple of triangular balsa supports and the tail was held on with rubber bands over dowels at each end. Robert Reeves
Hi John, Thank you for those, these will help a great deal. Goes a long way in helping to understand the diagram he gave me on how he planned on improving the vertical stab. I'll give it a crack and see what I can bodge together
