Nick Farrow
Hi,I have several foamies. My mpx EZ* and easy glider are great they dont suffer badly with weed stalks hitting on landing. However my GWS formosa only after a couple of months is looking very tatty on its LE and sides.I'm thinking of getting a GWS warbird and would like to try and keep it in better condition. Given that I'm going to give it a brushless make over , power is not a problem and so was wondering about a glassing job. Some people seem to rate it, but I have no idea how as I have only used fibre glass on sections of tape here and there, the other thing is, is it worth it and would the added weight be an issue on a smaller model?Comments most welcome !! Thanksnick
Tim Mackey
POLY-C and tissue----far better for this job than glass and resin.
Alastair Place
I have glassed 3 models and they have come out very well but there can be a big weight gain and the drying time can be a bit of a pain. But i have to agree with Timbo that POLY -C would be a better way to go, alot less mess and no mixing.
Nick Farrow
Right,That sounds just the job.Do you think there is much gain in having the adhesive agent of Poly-C compared with just a normal tin of poly varnish?
Tim Mackey
Well personally I think it is better than plain old PU varnish - and not really that much more expensive.
