X4R v2.1.0 CPPM mode

Is anyone using an ACCST LBT v2.1.0 X4R in CPPM mode? I've come to the conclusion (though I could be wrong) that the v2.1.0 version available on the FrSky downloads page does not operate in CPPM mode when bound to the transmitter with signal pins 2 and 3 connected by a jumper, as the on-line instruction say it should (and as it did in v1.x)..

There's been a version X4R-CPPM_ACCST_2.1.0_LBT.frk on the Github site for several months now, which I've installed, and configured with my BeastX heli controller, but not flown yet. It doesn't need any signal pins jumped when binding, but it does need to be bound in ch9-16 mode to get CPPM from channel 1. It seems to work okay, but it's a beta version, so I'm not confident about flying with it if FrSky are not willing to officially release it.
