MaxG
Am messing about charging and cycling some NiMH flight packs. When discharging what do you discharge down to? I have been using 1.1V/cell is that still the perceived wisdom? TIA Maxg
Nigel R
Regular AA Eneloops: Charge up as usual, then, 2A discharge to 1V/cell. Packs should stay discharging for about 50 minutes under those conditions. There was a fair discussion on cycling buried in this thread:
MaxG
Thanks Nigel. The reference to the old thread was very useful. Obviously I was being very conservative with my 1.1 V/cell discharge. It would also probably account for why having done that it didn't take a full charge as noted by the mAh put back in. I have an old Pro Peak charger and on using that to discharge I did note that it took the pack down to 1.0V/cell Think that as its quite a long time since I used some of these packs another discharge to 1.0V/cell followed by and overnight could be a good idea. Thanks again Maxg
Nigel R
No worries. I think you're right, a few discharge/charge cycles won't hurt and will certainly give a better picture on the pack health.
