Jonathan Lewzey
Looking to upgrade to a more aerobatic sloper because my Ray has it's limitations on the slope and i'm very comfortable flying it. Looking at the Chris Foss Phase 6, Phoenix Model Products Synergy acro and the Dreamflight Alula (www.dream-flight.com) as a next step. Any suggestions on these models or an equivilant? Jakes Cronje
The PMP range of models are pretty good IMHO- the Synergy Acro is probably OK, but the Wanabee and Impulse wings are very popular at our club- wide speed range and almost indestructable. The advantage of the conventional models is that you can mix in flaps if you use two servos. Useful for landing in tight spots, add a little camber for scratching in light lift, add reflex if you want to move in big air.Tha Alula is a specialist model- it'll fly in next to no wind- but unless you build it heavy you'll struggle in anything over 8-10 mph. Jonathan Lewzey
From discussion on my club forum I now know that the alula is a lightweight model and not suitable for slope. A clubmember has offered me a flight on his impulse so i'll see what that's like. Has anyone got a Redback from European sailplanes? It's a foamy, but it looks like a moulded model. Also, has anyone had trouble getting stuff off European sailplanes, because I heard of a guy waiting 8 months for a kit!Jonathan L
