Plywood, balsa and real engines in 1943

Recommended Posts

I just happened to be reading some ancient Aeromodeller magazines when I happened upon the January 1943 edition (you can find it here at January 1943

What prompted my interest was that my local Australian TV channel recently showed the 633 Squadron film and apart from the smoochy bits it showed some great flying shots of the DH Mosquito.

For the technology of the day, nowadays one would call it a 'Game Changer' and it certainly was.

Well done Sir Geoffery de Havilland you got it right.

Balsa wood does fly better.
