winchweight Posted December 26, 2008 Share Posted December 26, 2008 Yup. Cut the leads off taking care not to short it out. Then drop it in a bucket of saltwater (outside) for 24-48 hrs. Tim Mackey Posted December 29, 2008 Share Posted December 29, 2008 actually you should not cut the leads off - connect the battery to a low current device such as perhaps a car headlamp bulb or similar and run the battery completely flat first. Next, carefully puncture /slit the "envelope" alonng the seams, and THEN submerse in salt water to completely finish off the discharge process.Then dispose of in normal rubbish.
