John Fok
I am interested in flying off water. The model I was interested in - the Thunder Tiger Seamaster - is no longer available. Another model , the Neptune 46 ARF is availbale in the US. Does anyone know of an agent/stockist in the UK for this model? If this too is unavailable, any suggestions for a similiar type of aircraft that is available? ~Thanks guys John Fok

Gemma Jane
I'd hazard a guess it might be this one David http://www.maxfordusa.com/lg-neptune-60-white.aspx Not seen it in the UK, arn't Maxford the same lot as 'Green Models'???
John Fok
I do not know who the manufacturer is. I found it through googling for ARF seaplanes at the Maxfordusa.com site. I took it they were the American distributor/stockist. Yes, according to the site, they used to be Green Models. Are they the manufacturers? Gemma Jane
I believe they are the actual manufacturers John Not sure of a UK stockist of the Neptune but have a model that is labelled 'Green Models'. Which I think came into the UK through J.Perkins but I don't see the Neptune listed on the J.Perkins website. Nothing conclusive and David will know a great deal more suppliers than I do. But failing a UK stockist, is there a reason you do not want to order from the States? I've ordered models over the web from the States before, you might have to pay an import duty (sometimes not though) but I've always found it a fairly easy thing to do. I just check on the website or by email that they are prepared to ship to the UK and make the purchase.
John Fok
Thanks for that Gemma. I have never ordered anything as large as that from abroad on the internet but may well give it a try. Do you know the rate of import duty if Customs and Excise decide to levy it?
Gemma Jane
Hi John, it depends a lot on how they label the item. I think technically there is no import duty on a model kit, just VAT to pay. Though I have been charged import duty if the label doesn't state that it is a toy model kit. There is a calculator here, you have to sign up (free) but it does give a reasonable indication of cost, remember to fill in all the fields such as insurance and shipping costs. It may well be worth instructing Maxford to put the correct description on the parcel if they are willing to ship to the UK
John Fok
That is very helpful Gemma. My next move is to get in touch with Maxfordusa.
