TonyS
Am taking my first trip to the Nationals tomorrow (inc wife and in-laws) and was wondering whether any seasoned veterans out there have any advice they can give such as: Do I need to get there early to avoid traffic, if so what sort of time, do I need to take chairs etc or are there places to sit down, what food is available, is it any good or should I pack some butties, etc etc etc. Any tips most welcome.... Thanks Tony
TonyS
I just looked on the BMFA site and it looks like the Model Airshow finished today. Does anyone know if there's anything to see tomorrow - looks like it may just be the end of the comps..... PS Am I on my own in thinking that this is a rather poorly marketed event...? winchweight
Model Airshow finished today and very good it was. Top Gun has a new Champion (or pair of.....) As for tomorrow, I think there's still events happening such as gliders, pylon, F5D etc.
TonyS
Hi Shaun, Thanks for the mail. You wouldn't be the new Champ would you.......? Can you tell me if there are any stalls, retailers etc etc tomorrow or is it purely competition? Thanks
winchweight
Hi Tony. Me? The champ......? No, it was the fabulous Steve and Matt Bishop with their Red Arrows synchro pair display. As for tomorrow, I'm sorry I have no idea about the traders. I would guess so, but they may quit early.
Dave Drew
Whatever you do don't go if you want to buy 2 stroke i/c stuff cos the beggers have all stopped selling it. Event should be renamed the 'BMFA Only suppliers of electric aircraft and bits can set up stalls show' (Or alternatively suppliers of large expensive petrol engines welcome but don't dare come and try and sell pottering 2 strokes) I won't be attending again. TonyS
Hi Dave, It sounds like you had a disappointing day. Sorry about that. There has been a fair bit of drift to electric - you can see that in the online shops etc, I guess that they are following the market? Out of interest were many of the flyers on 2 stroke?
