Well...yes you are right 40 & 26 are indeed different numbers so well done for getting that bit correct.... however if you had read down the page you would have reached the bit that said....
 
The .26 four-stroke buggy motor was similar to the .40 in that it had a pull start and black engine block. It also shared the same cooling problems and need for a heavy flywheel as its big brother.
 
As you noted the engine was not very successful & it was discontinued so sadly you can't buy them anymore.... Personally I think a 2 stroke is much more suitable for a buggy motor but then what do I know....you must fit the engine you think best suited. My point in the original post was simply that 4 strokes can actually go to a very high rpm.
 
& yes you are right that quoting incorrect figures is indeed misleading & false & is not something I make a habit of.....not fully reading what has been written can also give the same result.....blonde or not!!!!
