Ross Clarkson
Hi all, Just a quickie. When i start assembling my new aircraft i will have to cut away some of the covering before installing servo's and such. This will be the first time i have done this. Question is, is the covering stuck to all of the surface area of the aircraft or is it just the extremities? What i mean is, once i have cut an area will i need to re-heat/stick the new edge of the covering? Hope this makes sense.
ken anderson.
hello ross-you probably will need to re-stick the covering down--take it easy with the amount of heat you apply until you are happy with the setting's and dont go over the top with the iron application or you may shink the covering too mucho...........whatever bit you remove-try that on the iron before the model....... ken anderson......... Robert Bromwich
Ross the only time you need to be careful when your cutting covering is when you are gluing tail on etc as you dont want to cut into the balsa underneath otherwise for servo gaps etc then cut covering and use knife to peel back/ cut balsa out the size of servo robEdited By Robert Bromwich on 30/12/2009 20:20:
