Phil 9
so for my Robust model (WOT 4)I need a Robust engine. ie should be low maintenance and easy to start any suggestions?
Bruce Richards
You won't go far wrong with an Irvine .53 and performance will be sparkling. But if you want something very easy to start go electric.Edited By Bruce Richards - Moderator on 24/01/2010 15:21:
Phil 9
I am not an expert at differnt makes of engine. I have a OS .40FX and a .45 Evolution they both seem pretty good and I am sure an Irvine .53 would be perfect. I have also just bought a JEN .57 for a super chipmunk kit I am building. My problem is they all recomend differnt fuels the evo askes for 15% and the gen 5%. will running a different nitro content to the recomended have a big effect. ie will 5% either side make a difference. What I mean is if I go for the middle and use 10% nitro for all my models is this ok (they all work so far) but am I storing up trouble for the future. flytilbroke
For the run of the mill engines, and that is most of them, 10% Nitro is ok. Unlikely to have any adverse effect. One make, someone correct me if wrong, the "Laser" uses straight fuel. The Wot 4 flies well with Irvine .46/.53 and thier price is very good just now.
