I need some help with a conversion which I would like to carry out.

I have here a Dave Smith Model - Smartmove 40 - with the following details:-

Span                   143 cm
Lenght                148 cm
Weight                1900   -   2700 gms
Wing loading     19ozs/Sq.f.
Power ic.             40 Two stroke
                              60 Four stroke

Can anyone help me with an Elecric Set-up, Motor, ESC, Lipo's, and Prop size.

Many thanks in advance,

John.

5lb+ pattern ship type model, which will require a good power to weight ratio then, at least 100 watts per pound and probably better at 150.
This means a powertrain of around 750 Watts. Decent size prop of maybe 13 X 6 or so.
Motor therefore low Kv and capable of at least 750 watts - how about this one ?
750 watts means current will be too high ( IMO ) on anything less than 5s battery.
Current on 5s will be circa 40+ amps, so get a 50A ESC minimum.
