Tell me please, I ve been making models for seven moths, but there are days when I m not so keen to do anything to them. Is this a sign that I m not a true modelmaker as perhaps some of you are.   I do still enjoy making them once I have started,  Does anyone else get off days Reg Ball

  13. Eric, as usual you re very helpful. Tell me please,When using a plan how does one convey a shape ie.ribs, and any shapes from a plan to the wood. Also how do you shape say seven ribs diminshing in size alomg a wing. These ?s would be answered from a book but I mdamned if I can find one that s suitable. any ideas please many thanks Reg Ball
  14. Thankyou Eric, your replies are most helpful. I now realize the differences with balsa wood, I don t get mine from a shop, but online, and merely ask for thickness, and 18 inches long, is there something else I should be asking? like hard, soft or suchlike. I don t like asking too much or taking up someones time so I appreciate your effort thankyou Reg Ball
  15. Everyone seems happy about this draw so am IGood luck to one and all Reg Ball
  16. Forgive me if I have asked this ? before. I have built 5 kits, enjoyed it so much even the fiddly bits,I have immence patients.I wan t to build from a plan for novices., you see thats what I am an old doddery novice, who gets confused at times. You don t believe me? ask my wife I nearly put the dog in the fridge. I have seen many plans for sale but not for the novice. Do they tell me which woods to buy, maybe hints on how to contruct the plane, or do I buy a plan first then ask these ?s afterwards. It would be helpful to know a little more please thankyou Reg Ball PS Ilike rubber powered because of dreaded arthritis
  17.  Hi Simon, thankyou for your info regarding balsa. the reason I asked is, I saw in a mag. that there are different hardness for balsa, and the stringers with the kit appear harder, or should I say rigid but, I will do as you suggest thankyou Reg Ball
  18. I am building 1/18 scale balsa model. I have to cut more stringers as I wasted somes that were supplied with the kit.Which balsa is used for stringers please thanks Reg Ball

    Dihedral

My god Eric you are a mine of information. I did  not think that this game we play is so damn complicated,Perhaps I should return to woodwork,or nursing that was easy, spent a lifetime at both.Another reason my Puss Moth would nt fly . The covering tissue distorted the wings, such little thing that keeps one grounded. Please, how do I give a model more dihedral, that is not so much a ? as a plea I m 68 and confused, not only by the pc, but the things I have to learn to pursue my latest hobby         Thanks alot Reg.

    Dihedral

I have asked this ? before, but can t remember where, so please excuses me. is the dihedral factor as important in a scale model 1/18 as in a larger model. Forgot to tell you mine is rubber powered. thanks a lot Reg
  21.  only build rubber powered at the moment, some tell me please, Is the dihedral factor as essential for 1/18 scale than larger planes. I have nt flown a plane yet, due to weather and my arthritis. Thanks a lot Reg
  22. Many weeks ago I asked a question regarding covering. I have forgotten who replied, but many thanks for giving me a 3page dowload on this , whoever you are thankyou Reg
  23. I have looked on many sites, I can see many r/c plans but not rubber powered plans. Please does anyone know of a site where I can obtain the latter.I would still like to convert r/c to rubber plans, but thought I could start on a plane that would be easier to start on to begin with many thanks to you all Reg
  24. Hello David at my age Im not sure what I need sometimes, I need to convert an r/c plan to rubber powered. In my opinion we can do anything we set our hearts on, I hope thanks a lot Reg
