Doug I had LOL picturing your dad sitting on the V1.. at what point did he decide that this thing won't go off???? LOL.  Kids have no fear!!  I remember watching a couple of kids hitting a 120mm mortar round in the middle east with a iron bar!!!  I Did'nt hang around to long to find out if it was a dud.

Simon your photo of a pulse jet is very like the one my friend has! your right about the noise!!! i was at  a show in Scotland a few years ago and they had a twin pulse jet in the air a few times. It would be hard to let on to the wife you havn't been in the shed firing up one of these!!!  But they are fun to watch.. I hope he takes on the advice you guys have posted. Colin.

Hi, a friend is looking advise on how to ignite a spark via a spark plug on a pulse jet he is working on. He is looking for something that can be attached to the plug then removed when the jet starts to fire up. It needs to cause a series of sparks to ignite the petrol vapour in the chamber. 12 v will be the power source i think!
  6. Hi Guys, i have just found out the kit is a Flying Legends Spitfire, close to 1/4 scale! i cant find them or their contact Number! Can anyone help me out with a email address?
  7. I might change the RX to a PCM  ans see if that helps, again work is hindering me from trying out any advice i have been given so far. Also the weather is putting me off from trying them out. NICE TO SEE A BIT OF RAIN FOR A CHANGE ! .
  8. Hi Andy, wasnt sure if it was a M/R kit. I could always ring him and ask! As for flying it i have a back room full of planes needing repairs or just kitted out to fly!! I am converting a pica 1/5 scale p51 to petrol at the moment but had a few glitches so need that sorted before i fly, flew great with a S/Tbut use to go dead stick a lot and scare the pants off me! It now has a Fuji 50 cc..should be fun! Have a WACO 1/4 scale being cut at the monent by Falcon Aviation so i might put everything on hold and build that. love Bi Planes! I have a 1/4 Scale flair T/moth i throw about with a lazer 150. Thanks for the DB info.. Cheers.
  9. Hi Gordon, i have J.R. servos except on the elevator which is a HI TEC 645. I still have not had the time to give it another run to check things! work does get in the way of having fun!!! win the loto buy a plot of land build a strip and invite a few friends. Work is a 4 letter word!
  10. Cheers Mark will check out M/R asap. I know he does a 1/4 scale spit. Thanks for the reply. CD.
  11. Hi, can anyone tell me where i can get parts for a 88inc 1/5 scale  mk 9 spit i picked up at a recent swap meet. i need a 5 inc spinner, canopy, wing blisters, wheels. Dont know what the kit is..it has a glass fus. and foam wing. I have a 36cc 4s saito for it, will this be ok?
  12. Try the fokker DV111, Traplet have a 1/4 scale plan from about Nov. 2006 . I built one and was very impressed at the easy of build. It will fly on a good 120 4s. Or a 20 petrol. It has a parasoll wing and is easy to handle in the air. I know you asked about a WW11 fighter but vintage WW1 types are hard to beat. Send me your email address and i  will sent a photo asap of the one i built. CD.
  13. Hi Andy, I have only use a exaust once on a 4stroke and that was in a t/moth with a lazer engine just because of the port set up on these engines.  I run the tube forward with a cone shaped device to slightly persurize the tank with the prop wash on all planes i have with 4s, but i think you can set them with out this . I think they sound better with out the exausts and they also tend to fall off at some stage and are costly to replace.
  14. I Will move the RX as far away as i can to the rear of the plane. I have had a few flights using the whip without any probs! using a large S/T on this plane but will check this out again. as for the plug lead i will add more shielding to it. Thanks every one again for your input!!
