  2. Hi all, it is with sadness to report that David is very ill, i will not go into too many details as yet to respect family and close friends of David & the man himself. David is at the moment on the cancer ward here in n,pton general undergoing treatment starting chemo this coming Friday ( Jan15th), however his close friend and ex colleague in his DB Kit days Dave Toyer has visited David and reports him to be in good spirits , as said in an earlier post last year i have not known David for long but he is one of those Guys that talks to you like he as known you for years, we will keep you all updated , please use this post for your best wishes and we will hopefully pass them all on to "boddo" and his family ,thinking of his lovely wife at this time. With Thanks Paul Masters, O,gees MFC information officer.
  3. Hi dave, having spoken to boddo a few weeks ago he knows they look similar and Alex has aknowledged this as well , however as david has pointed out most high wing trainer types do look similar ,look at the ARTF trainers on any shop site it would be hard to tell them apart, boddo is more than happy that any Kit/plan that gets people building is a bonus in todays ARTF world. cheers paul
  4. solved that as well , when i checked the new battery on my charger the display was still showing the voltage from the last battery , sounds a bit backwards but hard to explain. i recharged the new batt put in tx & now shows a healthy 11.2v.  still gatting to grips with the e****ic side of the hobby but im not converting! im not im not im not ( keep repeating to myself i love wiping all the oil from my planes!)
  5. hi guys, well simon was spot on i had a throttle mix set up on a switch i dony normally use ,all sorted now, what a plonk
  6. hi wonder if anyone can help, i have a 2 yr old ff7 have not used too much in last year due to purchase of dx7, however after finding a passion for vintage models would like to use 35mhz for these due to lower costs of receivers etc, when i turn Tx on the low power alarm sounded at 8.5v so went & brought new 2000mh batt, charged up yet still voltage at 8.5 with alarm. am i missing something or does it sound like the TX has blown something. 1 more thing the Tx has never been used for a sims with reference toMike Bells post re his FF9. cheers paul
  7. well as promised in my newbie thread here is the start of the BB NOVICE review. pics to be added to my album in next couple of days. well picked up kit from Al,s on monday and must say first impressions look good ,well packaged with full size plan and instructions. however on opening the first hurdle to hit, on the box it states that all parts are stamped according to their relevant position, oh dear not in this case. well not too much a problem we have the plan to work from, next hurdle the ribs do not quite match up with the plan so we have to revert to some artistic licence and move the LE forward. thats as far as we go so far. all in all the kits still looks promising but could knock back a total begginer at an earlly stage. one question does anyone have photos/videos of the novice and if you own one how well does it fly & whats the launchig proccess like. cheers paul
  8. hi all , quick note on myself, been flying 2&half years ,passed my A in oct 06 . not had as much practise as i would of liked due to b*****y weather but have now found the "building" side. just finishing of the Bushwacker from BB plans ,needs covering & radio installed. finally i am about to start a "review" in the kit building section on the BB NOVICE an old design but always intrested me in wanting a slow sedate powered glider type design. nice kit of parts so far however one flaw spotted already in that no parts are printed as advertised on box, not too much a problem but as it is aimed at the Begginer????. cheers guys & dolls
