  1. thanks for the info Allan, I had not thought about the mechanics of the wing mounting in the air, what you said makes sense, split pins is the way to go then
  2. Hi all I am hoping you can help me. I have purchased a Sport and Scale Piper Cub 1/5 scale that has been almost finished then stored in a loft for a number of years. Unfortunately the gentleman who built the plane has passed away & although the plane came with plans there is no build instructions & I have no idea how the wings should be attached. There are 2 wooden pegs/dowels with holes in them but they need some method of securing & tightening? I emailed DB Sport & Scale, its different on the latest designs, he was not familiar with this version, apparently its pre 2005, probably much older, he suggested using split pins in the wooden pegs. The wings are located on steel rods for & aft, but what would pull the wing to the fuselage, although they are a good fit, is that sufficient? I have attached pictures of the wing fitting points , any help would be appreciated,   Regards Ian
  3. Suggest you contact MacGregor the importer. When I contacted them about spares for my VMAR trainer they could not help, maybe they will be able to help with the Bulldog as its a more expensive plane. Please post if you mange to locate spares, after 30+ enjoyable flights I had a deadstick & damaged the cowl!!!
  4. My first flight with the Bulldog was exactly the same, the plane wanting to bank to the right in my case, with help from another club member (thanks Steve) we managed to trim the plane & land. When we examined the control surface one of the flaps was out of line, the horn had moved in its hole in the flap in spite of me having secured them OK when assembled. I have since made sure everything is really tight!!! With everthing secure it is a stable plane.
