  4. Hi Alec Yes need to move the stuff asap. regards Eric
  5. No - I am looking to dispose of the whole collection - sadly although worth several thousand pounds no one seems interested and it looks as if I will have to resort to the local tip.
  6. Due to health reasons I am clearing all R/C gear and models - Futaba 14 SG Tx, SAB 700, Sab 570, Synergy 700, Trex 500 and others all ready to fly. Ammo box containg numerous Lipos. Rev Lectrix Cellpro Powerlab 6 1000W Battery charger and power supply. Numerous other items - All free to collect from South Cumbria NW UK.
  7. Hi I started in radio control over 30 years ago with slope soaring (Veron Impala) and moved onto power - glow and petrol and finally electric. The last 5 years I have been flying helicopters - electric starting with the 450 size gradually moving up to 700. Whilst I am enjoying sports flying - no way good enough for 3D I thought I would try a scale build project. After considerable research on the web (mainly Heli Freak) it seems that anything based on existing mechanics relates to 'older' models eg,Align 600 ESP. There are of course manufacturers such as Vario but the prices are not far short of full size! My fleet consists of Align 450,500 L Dominator, 700L Dominator, SAB Goblin 500, 700, Compass Atom 500, Mikado Logo 550. None of the aforementioned seemed to have been used as the basis for a scale model. Has anyone any suggestions for a first time project?
  8. Hi Have done exactly the same thing- ie bought a T-FHSS rx! guess I'm just stuck with it.
  9. Hi I've just completed the yeti flying wing with the 4 max set up and its great fun to fly. However my taped finish is very shoddy to look at (full of creases etc) and I am more at home covering balsa models in Oracover ets I was wondering if a glass cloth covering would be ok bearing in mind its a foam model and I don't think the weight should be an issue looking at the state of the present covering. Has anyone ever glassed a foamie?
  10. Hi Have ordered and received the Cambrian Spitfire funfighter for electric power. Was wondering whether it would be feasible to use separate servos in the wing for ailerons as I'm not keen on the torque rod set up? The motor I thought of using was a PPPO-3536-910 outrunner but note from 4max web site an inrunner is recommended! any thoughts?Eventually it is my intention to glass cloth the model and use Humbrol war paint colours.
  11. Hi My 500 heli is powered via 6 cell 3300Ma Lipo and I have 6 charged up at a time.In order to speed up the charging procedure I charge them in parallel (app.45 mins). To date I have not been able to find a lipo charging safety bag that will accommodate all 6 and therefore charge them outdoors but would prefer to use the garage. Does anyone know if such a safety sack is available anywhere?
  12. Hi As far as I am aware the PL6 automatically calculates the 13.2 amps charge rate.
  13. Hi I've got the PL6 charger up and running and tried out parallel charging 4 6s 3300mAh power packs and admit I was somewhat disappointed with the overall time charging took (almost 2 hours). Maybe I should increase the charge rate from 1c to 2c?
  14. Hi From what I can gather therefore it seems best to run the power supply at the max. voltage the charger can take ie. 24V.
  15. Hi Just uprated my battery charger to a cellpro pl6 withS1200W charger power supply. The power supply has a voltage dial which has a min. of 11.4V which I have not touched as I don't really understand its function - could someone please advise?
  16. Hi What I have noticed is that there is relatively little movement in the servos with the exception of rudder which seems to move fully left and right. I was wondering whether perhaps the control unit (3gxmrs) is toned down for beginners! even so I would ascertain that the servos ,with the exception of rudder are only moving roughly half distance - maybe worthwhile trying a different controller (was thinking of the Futaba)?
  17. Hi The model is Trex450 plus dfc with Align 3GXmrs controller which only has two adjustment screws - gain and roll rate neither of which I have touched as they are set at factory settings for beginner (quarter too). I've tried to set it up for hovering only and have not bothered at this stage with idle up 1 & 2. The present pitch curve settings on my Tx. are -30,-10,+10,+50,+80 with a throttle curve of 0,30,55,70,85. Its not bad but I feel I could improve the curves.Incidentally the minus figs. on the pitch curve are because the Futaba 14sg goes from -100 to +100.
  18. Hi At present I'm learning on a Trex450 dfc and have tried various pitch curve settings some ok others definitely not. I watched an U tube video which suggested starting with 0% pitch with stick in low position,6% at mid stick and 10% at full stick. Whilst able to achieve the first two settings on my Tx.the max will only reach 8%. Do I need to alter the end point to get the 10% setting? Incidentally I'm using a Futaba 14sg Tx.
  19. Hi The back of the radio unscrews and there you will spot the ratchet over the throttle stick. Simply remove the retaining screws and replace the ratchet. Incidentally mine came with ratchet and the spare 'smoothe' ratchet bar was enclosed.
  20. Hi Has anyone tried the APM 2.6 in a helicopter? I've used one on a quadcopter and it works a treat. On looking on the web there are various forums but nothing on how to power the servos on an APM.I do know that the power level is critical as it can easily fry the board if overpowered.
  21. Hi I've looked at numerous web sites and forums to try and sort the various problems encountered with the APM 2.6 and list below a couple of sites I found informative - copter.ardupilot.com/wiki/prearm_safety_check/ **LINK**
  22. Hi Problem now resolved. After some study of the Arducopter manual I have altered some parameters which seem to have worked. Thanks for all your responses which will no doubt be helpful in the future.
  23. Hi I've had a KK2 board in the past but the one I'm having problems with is the APM2.6. An existing quad. has an APM2.6 installed and works fine - this one must be jinxed!
  24. Hi Finally managed to get the quad to arm and all the motors spool up together. When holding the quad and tilting it the motors respond trying to level it which is as it should be. Unfortunately when applying full throttle the motors do not accelerate and merely spool at app. 1/4 speed. If I recalibrate the motors this seems to bypass the arming procedure as the throttle will spool the motors up to full power but when tilting the quad there is no stabilisation attempt from the motors! I am completely at a loss as to what to try next.
