  1. Peter Lewis started Cambria models in 1972. (Well slightly before actually but registered it in 72) At some point he took on a partner, who he fell out with for reasons I do not know. The partner took some of the designs with him and started the Cambrian Model company. The rest is history. We are not competing in as much as although the models look the same, Cambria have developed the Funfighters in such a way that they are suitable for pylon racing. This has resulted in them having a huge speed range from very slow to very fast 147+ MPH and got rid of the awful lauching characteristics of the original. Also the kits are laser cut now and very acurate to build as a first build model. I go to great lengths to ensure the kits are very good quality and of the very best materials available. I also have put a lot of effort into after sales service and very short turn around on spare parts. We have added a 40 sized Zero to the range and the Kawasaki Hein. Also a sport aerobatic glider is on the way. I'm proud of the name and all that it stands for, it's now the oldest surviving british model company pretty much and it's great to keep it going. Cambrian sometimes advertise as the original company but aren't.
  2. It really isn't that hard. Cambria Funfighters is me and The Cambrian Model Company is them. They are quite different, it's just that people shorten it to the Cambria / n when they talk about it.
  3. Hi all, It's time once again for me to post this message. People are still confusing Cambria Funfighters and Cambrian models. It's no surprise I guess with very similar names, however it has yet again come to my attention that people are seeing our displays at the UK shows and somehow coming away with the idea that they are Cambrian models. They are not and although the models are a similar sized and shape they have very different carachteristics and construction. Cambria Funfighters are only available at the UK shows from Balsa Cabin, Rapid RC or myself. The easy way to remember is: There is no N in CAMBRIA. This is not to criticise the other company in any way just intended to give clarity. Look for our logo on the box.
  4. Hi all, sorry I've not been around for a while. Just a note to say that with the demise of most 32 IC 2 strokes, Weston UK, Paul Bardoe and Cambria Funfighters have banged our heads together and come up with a new 32 sized engine designed specifically for Club 32 racing and Cambria Funfighters. Obviously I should say that other engines are available in fairness, only I don't think there are any more. Even ASP and SC engines in this size are not available. OS 35 AX is the next nearest engine. Please specify what model your engine is for as the two are differentiated by different exhausts.
  5. And the winner is........ Bob Cotsford. Congratulations Bob. You can choose from Hein, Spitfire or Me 109.
