can i vote for two models? Flea-Fli or Curare 25, but somebody must be able to provide short or full kits

I've stopped rc flying recently and can't see myself flying again for the next 2-3 years, but don't mind spending an hour or two in the workshop now and then. My choice would be......doh......Martyn's Curare 25 as long as somebodydoes a short or full kit of it.

i cant talk from experience here, but, loving this plane i've read lots. this swing is a common trait with twin engine taildraggers apparently, and there is not much that can be done about it, other than to hold in 'up' elevator at the very beginning, advance throttle veeerrry slowly keeping the rudder stick employed as necessary, and releasing elevator once you have enough speed for the rudders to be effective. only then advance to takeoff power, again smoothly, and almost let her fly off the deck unaided. i am assuming the plane behaves well once airborne?

option 6 above sit down, bury head in both hands and cry. that brings all the lads round for the postmortem. on a really good day some generous soul may even offer words of consolation or an old hack when i say none of my other 20-odd models are flyable (this latter seems to happen to everyone but me).

would absolutely love a curare (does the curare 25 Martyn is putting together count), but also have an unbuilt great planes ultra sport 40. is this too recent?

hey Steve, have you guys actually formed this association? plan to start building the Rapture 50 right after the new year, you may hear from me with a million questions anyone wanting a 50 size pattern model could do MUCH worse than buying one of these. especially if like me, you have developed an allergy to pallet-wood arf's!! 2 landings and the u/c rips out of most arf's.

Martyn hi, are you going to manage to get the curare to a kit cutter? i would buy a short kit instantly. as for a follow up, it would have to be one of two in my books.....a super star as you mentioned, or a komet , same era but an italian design.

Hi I've just acquired a new-in-box Cambrian Sport Scale Mustang kit from a buddy. The only thing missing is the plan. Is there anyone out there who has built this kit and can give some advice? Or can supply the plan, or a photocopy of it, which I will of course pay for. This is a 55 inch span kit, not the funfighter size. Thanks Chris

oh that TH!! thanks for that. hoping for something a bit bigger, around 65 inch span. currently building a galaxy twin scorpion for two asp 25's, and have plans for an 80 inch Beech D18 which i hope to send off to belair or falcon to get laser cut next year. this will have two asp 61 4 strokes. previously had a nitroplanes p-38 too.

Chris, that kit would be nice but postage to malta is 40 quid - way too much. kc, thanks again, will explore that route and i have as nice new asp 25 available.

thanks everyone. my plan was (is) to build a 3/4 or 2/3 size, 40 powered version as an everyday hack and i dont mind doing some minor redesigning or modifying. the link in tinpot pilot's post is not accurate, so kc is perfectly right here. however i think i will still use this as a basis for the model i am after, use the same basic outlines, and change as i go along. maybe i,ll christen it 'spirit of tradition'. thank you once again for the valuable assistance.
