  1. My suggestions is:   1- F22 raptor with twin 70mm EDF   2- Cosmic wind "ballerina" in 1/3 scale   3- F9F Panther power scale soarer   I would build all three...   Have allready built two of Tony's planes, the Hurricane and the Spitfire.
  2. Well guys... I had about 50 flights with the ASP 61 fourstroke, using a 12X8 prop. You have to use the 8 pitch, or else you will not get enough speed for proper flying. I tried the 6-pitch once, and barely got back to the strip and landed. DO NOT MAIDEN WITH ONLY 6-PITCH ON A FOURSTROKE ENGINE!
  3. Hi Allan.   I have not flown it yet after making the flaps. Still snow here in norway. I think it will be no problem with electric power. The battery can stay were the tank is, just behind the firewall. My hurricane weights 3,8 kilos. The original drawings is ment for brushless system. You may have to add some lead in the nose, but still you will be under 4 kilos of weight.   Go for it!
  4. The Hurricane is a build out of the Tony Nijhuis drawings that came with RCM&E back in 2008. On the picture above it is fitted with an Evolution .61 two-stroke, but I changed it to an ASP .61 fourstroke after 10 flights, because the twostroke were just too much engine. .61 fourstroke is just perfect for this plane, even with 600grams of lead in the cowling. AUW is 3,9 kilos   Buildthread in norwegian, but with pictures: http://scalewarbird.hopto.org/forum/index.php?topic=686.0    Edited By gadyrdal on 23/02/2010 22:47:02
  5. I covered my hurricane with grey ultracover, and pressed panellines in the covering. Then painted it. Then I chipped of paint randomly along the lines etc. before I put on a layer with clear cote for fuelproofing. All paint with Humbrol enamel and useing small roller and brushes.     My weathering... She has been flying about 60 times now, and even more (and natural) weathering is added. Looks much better than all fabric new..... Edited By gadyrdal on 06/02/2010 20:22:46
  6. Thanks. I have had a couple of flights now, and I feel it is a bit sensitiv on the elevator... Will try to re-link the servo, so it uses the whole range for the movement.Edited By gadyrdal on 16/01/2010 18:27:03
  7. I have had about 60 flights now, 10 with the .61 twostroke Evolution, and 50 with an ASP .61 fourstroke. The Hurricane really loved the fourstroke Much more gentle on takeoff, and beautiful sound in the air. I am now fitting splitflaps to make her easier to land. I just cut out the area in the wing, and replace the 2mm balsaskin with 2mm 5-layer plywood, and hinge it in the wing. I will make the servos and links inside the wing for better scale looks. Here is a picture of her with the two-stroke engine... And the build thread in Norwegian, with pictures...: http://www.trmfk.no/forum/viewtopic.php?t=767&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
  8. I made mine a scale look of the famous Ballerina. Added real wheelpants for better looks   The original     Mine.... Electric for better scale look   Building thread in norwegian, but with pictures here: http://scalewarbird.hopto.org/forum/index.php?topic=819.0Edited By gadyrdal on 04/12/2009 20:42:13
  9. Here is my Hurricane on maiden day. Great looking, eh?   Fitted a Evolution .61 with 12X6 prop
  10. Hi everyone. About the retracts; I am going to use theese... Cheap, but looks great!!! They are originally for a 46 size plane, but this hurricane is so light it will not be a problem. And the best part, you dont have to fiddle around with linkage to a retract servo, as they are servoless... Just store the wheels that follows for later and buy som larger... http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=8342&Product_Name=Digital_Servoless_Adjustable_Landing_Gear_set__ Geir
