  1. This a photo of the esc and the two wires for the nav lights coming from the esc. the lights, light-up when the battery is connected. The lights are on the wing tips and and they are already installed with the wires ready to connect to the two wires from the esc. Because those particular wire are only comprised of two wires black & red my query is can I connect an extension lead with 3 colours to them or do I have to remove one of the three wires and if so which colour ?
  2. Thanks frank, for your quick response ! The two wires for the lights do come from the speed controller. Leaving the three wires on the extension,as you state,is possible as the two wire leads do have servo plugs attached. Eric.
  3. I`ve bought a model which has navigation lights. The wires from the speed controller; there are two presumable, left and right. Each wire is made up of two coloured wires, Black & Red. I`m wanting to extend them but my extension wires consist of three colours,Yellow, Red, Brown. Which colour should I remove from the wires with three colours ? Please advise ! Eric.

  5. You`re quite the detective tony; keep up the good work !!
  6. Thanks for responding Tony but the instruction booklet, as you can see is very short on detail and I am aware of the link with rcgroups but the build blog, does not give much detail on the basic build. In particular the retractable tailwheel. Eric.
  7. I bought a new Starmax P51 EPO, 1600 wingspan Mustang from Long Marston show. It has a Chinese instruction book which is lacking in detail, especially how to connect up the retract tailwheel, among other things ! So I`m hoping that someone on the forum has successfully built this model and can advise me ! Thanks, Eric.
  8. Thanks Dave, for your quick response and the answer to my question. Thanks, Eric.
  9. I need a replacement motor for my Seagull E-Pioneer. I do have a Himax Outrunner Brushless HC3516-0840, amongst my bits&bobs but because I`ve had it for over 4 years, I`m not able to google the specific spec for the model. Can anyone advise me as to the spec and is it suitable for the E-Pineer ?
  10. Well my faith in Phoenix support is shattered ! After they confirmed that my lead was a genuine Phoenix one; they have stopped advising me as to how I get over my problem. I`ve been waiting over a week now, after e.mailing them for further advice !!
  11. My problem is that when trying to install my sim onto my new computer ( stayed with windows 7); I get the following message "Phoenix could not locate a genuine phoenix usb interface connection to your computer"; needless to say, my lead is genuine and has been used successfully over the last two years on my old windows 7 computer. They have asked for a photo of my lead, which I have just sent to them. Eric. Hi Pete.
  12. The e.mail address I had been using is the e.mail support address as shown on the phoenix sim but it is incorrect ! I phoned Horizon hobbies and they gave me the e.mail address to use. [email protected] Which I did and got a reply within the hour.
  13. I`m trying to contact phoenix support but the e.mail requesting support is not being recognised! Can anyone throw some light as to why ? Eric.

  15. Are there any flight/action simulators that are available for Game Boxes, such as X-box or similar?
  16. Interesting video, Chuck. Though I used the word "insert" In my description of how I intend to rectify the fault I`m really thinking of cutting a groove in the foam and laying a carbon rod in the recess. Then clamping the rod securely where the wing is straight; which would emphasize the discrepancy at the tip end and then clamp the tip to the straight and secure carbon rod. I`m hoping this way will work !
  17. My sincere condolences Mark, for your loss. A loss which will be felt by many !! Eric Loakes.
  18. I get worse ! My age of course !!
  19. I will be starting the build Jan/Feb.
  20. The string on the nose and rear of the model is to obtain lateral balance; which is spot on ! Edited By Pete B - Moderator on 09/12/2014 21:13:11
  21. This the reason I need to insert a carbon rod into my Cessna starboard wing. When I did it`s maiden flight it flew beautifully but as I prepared to take off on it`s second flight the motor just detached itself from the plywood motor mount. The fault lay with the Manufactures because they had not put sufficient glue in the mount. The result was the motor damaged the cowl and the wing was distorted. I managed by pouring boiling water on the tip of the wing, which enabled some return to normality. I tried to fly it the other day, twice in fact, but in both, the flights were unstable. So now I want to insert a rod and force up the remaining 1", as shown in the photo. And then try flying it again, weather permitting ! Any advice would be appreciated !!
