  6. Good luck with the building. I am very fond of Gordon's designs straight forward but interesting and fly well. I chickened out of painting a lozenge colour scheme and went for the very simple all white of Herman Goerings machine. Needs a nice blue sky though or it can get a bit disorientating. SteveH
  7. Spotted this post and wondered how you were progressing. I Originally built my D7 from this plan way back in 1993. Flew it a couple of times but did not get on too well flying it. My problem not the model. So it got hung up. Recently restored it and converted it to electric. e-Max GT2826/6 on 4cell LiPo. Now flies great. Does not need much power cruises on half throttle. Does need rudder/aileron coupling as it suffers from adverse yaw. Best of Luck steveH
  8. Cheers Chris, know what you mean. The screws supplied protrude through the prop adaptor base by just about 1mm into the holes on the motor. The depth of the tapped holes in the motor case are 5mm say 4 to be on the safe side. For price and size I am guessing these must be very popular motors. I'm sure other modellers have had the same problem. The idea of the design seems quite good as it should eliminate any future bent shafts, the prop adaptor is much more robust and hopefully easily avaiable as a spare if needs be.
  9. Anybody had this problem. Just bought an eMax GT2826/06. There are two alternative types of prop mounting. One uses four allen key headed screws to mount adaptor onto motor. Problem is the supplied screws are very short and hold on by only one or two threads. They could easily be 2 or 3mm longer for safety. I know I tend to over engineer but I don't trust that little thread. Has anyone used one othese motors, do you know what thread these screws are and if there are any suppliers. Thanks for any help. Nver had any problem with e max motors before considering how cheap they are.
  10. Has anyone had this problem. I have recently purchased an emax GT2826/06 motor. The Allen Key type screws that fix the prop adapter to the motor are to my mind very short with only about one or two threads giving purchase. They could be 2 or 3 mm longer. I know I tend to over engineer but I just don't trust so little thread keeping the prop on. My question is anybody know what thread these scews are and any one who supplies them. Thanks for any help.
