  1. Thanks guys, Reversing the Flaps solved the problem
  2. expert help needed please.   I have a problem with the ailerons/servo set up with DX6i/AR6200 I have many planes with this set up but my latest model with the thin type wing servos wont move the ailerons the right way. Reversing the servo just makes one servo only move. I have tried changing the location in the RX left servo in Ail Right servo in Aux1 as stated in the manual.....maybe Im just missing something.
  3. I can make you any size mount to your spec in high grade aircraft ally if you cant find what you need. email [email protected]
  4. thanks Steve, very helpfull regards Mike
  5. Can anyone please help with the setting of the TN (twin needle) carb on my enya 50cx?  I want to set the gap adjustment between the 2 needles. The manual is a little hard to understand as it says 'Just 100% the low idle screw'. Now are they saying fully screw clockwise or anti-clockwise? Fully clockwise sets the carb to fairly high idle & anti-clockwise closes the barrel completely for no idle.  The rest is of the set up is easily understood
  6. thanks Frank    I have it working now, although I did need the mixes in the TX as advised by the manufacture.(just one in mix 1 did the trick, adding mix 2 made no difference)     My only problem now is that I can only get the motors to start at half throttle! The motors both start in sync & they work perfect with the rudder, but only once the throttle  stick is moved half way. I have tried the trim & the % in the mix with no joy!
  7. Can anyone please help with the set-up of my twin motor Goolie flying wing?    I have the DX6i, using an AR500 with a GWS wing tail mixer & 2 x 10amp ESC's    As advised in the manual, I have cut one of the power cable to the second ESC then both are pluged to the wing tail mixer. Then the mixer leads pluged to the Throtle & Ruder.    The motors are both working I just dont seem to be able to get the motors sping in in the correct axis  I.E throtle up both motors sping at full throtle. Then rudder left should have the right motor running with the left running slower to full stop with full rudder stick movement...... I think.    I'm sure I'm missing something here maybe I should be looking a the mix set up in the tx?
  8. Thanks guy's  it was indeed one of the motor cables with a fracture giving an intermittent contact!  All fixed now.   many thanks for all your info
  9. Hi Guy's  can an anyone please help? I have been flying a small 3D foamy all morning, no problem. Then this afternoon as soon as I take off, its as if the battery is going flat within a few seconds. Change battery...same thing.... change ESC, again same problem    Also noticed that if I try to go full throtle the motor stops dead then starts going through the start-up bleeps.  Have I simply got a faulty motor?
  10. Can anyone please help me with my understanding of thrust angle's?     When an angle is described, from what view are we looking at? for example are we looking down (plan view) with the front (prop end pointing up(north)?  With this in mind & for a flying wing ( pusher prop) would I be thinking that the prop should be thrusting down (puting force down on the tail end) & thrusting left ( forcing the wing to the left)  I hope this makes sence as its not easy to describe without a diagram.
  11. have been running 25 to 1 as recomended by just engines. Athough I am & as you have now pointed out, running much to higher oil content. I have been using full sythetic 2 strock oils that I run in motox bike engines. The bikes usually run at 50:1 . With this in mind I will now try with the leaner mix.  Thanks
  12. Hi Timbo  many thanks for the advice, very helpfull indeed.
  13. Hi Guy's  Can anyone advise me on running 4 cell lipos with electric motors.  Do I need a 4 cell type motor to go with the 4 cell battery?   I have the 4 cell ESC type but have a few motors that have been run with 3 cell lipos. (20A motors)  with this in mind is it simply the case, as long as the motor is rated to say approx 50 amp then it would be OK to work with a 45 A ESC & a 4 cell 35c lipo?  would I be right in thinking 20A motors would simply burn out?
  14. Hi Guy's  I did the just engines conversion to CDI with their  Jen .57 motor.  After many hours of messing about with the standard carb I'm not convinced the unit runs at its full RPM potential, although the engine starts very easily & looks to be running fine.    I have done all the things just engines recomend ( change the compression & mess with the carb settings). But no matter what I do I feel Im about 20% down on RPM.    Would I be right in my asupmtion that engines this small simply wont run at full rpm on petrol or do I need to get a different carb. Just engines recomend the standard unit is fine?
  15. Hi Jim  I, like you like to tinker with new gadgets & have taken the plunge & got a .57 jen from just engines. I also got the CDI unit & did the conversion myself.  Now I am a mechanical engineer, so the machining parts were no problem.  With this in mind you do need to either machine the prop driver on a lathe to make it sitable for the magnet to be pressed in! for this you do need some lathe turning knowlege.    I wouldnt worry about the drilling of the engine case as it is to be drilled very close to the prop-shaft, but again this should be done on a drilling machine for acuracy. Then the hole drilled will ned to be tapped to make the tread. All basic engineering but it can be a bit of a worry if you have no experience.    Now the real problem for me was the actual set up & running of the engine once converted. Just engines supply  2 extra head gaskets to lower the compresion for petrol use. This is trial & error & again so is the jet settings to get the thing to run correctly.  I spent many hours doing just this & in the end Im still not sure if its right!   Now dont get me wrong the engine runns fine, starts very easily but I feel it wont run as high RPM as it would if it was running on glow fuel.  My next step is to convert back to glow to see if I'm right.  It could simply be a fact they dont run as fast on petrol as to with glow fuel... If anyone knows better I'm all ears.
