  1. Hi Chris, thanks for the info, in my shed I found an unopened tin of Ronseal Outdoor Varnish,  but it gives no info as to whether it is water based or otherwise.  It has some info regarding Q&A so I may send an e mail to them.  (Pity to waste it)  Plan B -carry out a trial.Regards fb3.
  2. Thanks John, I have looked at the spec. for the SD200, and it will do fine for my application.  FB3
  3. Hi all, due to restrictions on space and weight, could any one suggest an alternative to the good old Futaba 148, to operate the throttle on an OS40. Thanks FB3
  4. Hi all, probably this question has been asked before.  If I spray paint (Halfords )finest) over a Solartex covered fuz,  then finish off as normal with varnish, will the varnish take to the paint.  Thanking you FB3.
  5. Hi all,  slightly off topic, does the "Twinstar" have a dedicated esc as supplied, or can one use a similar type as far as amps are concerned. Thanks FB3.

  7. Hi all, does any one know of a supplier of cheaper price Solartex,  it is getting quite expensive these days.  Thanks FB3
  8. Hi all, thanks to all who replied to my question re Solar tex for Puppeteer.  Solartex plus varnish put on with a roller seems the way to go.. Jim, if I could get half the finish that you got on your T/Moth I will be happy.  PS ,was it a foam or lambswool type roller. ? Thanks FB3
  9. Hi all, Can anyone inform me of what glosstex looks like.  My Puppeteer, was to be covered in Solartex, until Glosstex was mentioned. Is it similar to Solartex with a shine on it.Also is it more expensive. Thanks FB3

  13. Hi Timbo,I cannot create a thread in any section, but as stated nearly all other post go. I had this same problem early  last year, but I think that cleared itself. Thanks fb3
  14. Hi all, any computer experts out there.  I can answer a query, and  post into into a thread, but when I click on new thread and after proceeding with the question or query,I click on post and it never goes. I don't have this problem with other forums. All help will be appreciated. Thanks fly boy 3
  15. Hi all, does any one remember a scare about 20 years ago concerning channels 60  and 62. on 35mhz.Apparently these channels give rise to a harmonic problem  for higher channel numbers, and interferance Some fliers refused to use the numbers for whatever reason.                             I think it was similar to whether mobile phones should be used on the flight line at the present moment.  Thanks flyboy3
  16. Hi All,due to pc probs. I cannot post a new thread, but may be able to get in this way. On my OS40 LA, the black plastic/nylon fuel entry ,opposite the throttle is loose, and can actually be easily pulled out. I am worried that air will be sucked in at this point  and cause a dead stick situation.   Can it be fixed, or is it a gonner.  Thanks FB3
  17. Thanks Doug, brass tubes of various diameters in flight box. I owe you one! FB3
  18. Thanks all for usefull info on t/rods, I do not have a lot of modeling tools as yet, so has anyone any idea as to what I can make (or buy) to gouge out the rounded slots required in the aileron. Slot is around 4 to 5mm diam.  Thanks
  19. Hi all, I have a pair of aileron t/rods that have a nylon tube covering the metal ,to be used as a bearing presumedly.  This will have to be buried deep in the aileron.  Do I have to use the nylon tube, and if so what would be a suitalbe adhesive.  Thanks
  20. If its Skala you will love it.  Cheers
  21. Hi all,  Word does not work when I open up MS office, would I have to uninstall all MS office, before down loading Open Office.  Cheers FB3
  22. Hi Shaun, wonderfull place, but where exactly on the island will you be staying?.  FB3
  23. Yamamoto -I also learned to fly on one of these, exellent trainer, came with or without ailerons.  Could also take the usual hard landings that do happen when you are in the learning mode.  Never had any problems with nose wheel, and we used grass and tarmac. landing strips.  FB3
  24. Hi all, can any one suggest a suitable 25amp ESC for basic motor and set up for Easy Star. I am told it requires a bec facility and lvc.  I can find some £25 ones on line and similar on ebay with a motor thrown in for half the price. As this is to be used as a trainer, I don't want to go over board with cost.  Thanks FB3
