Nice story ED. Nimh batts. are quite cheap compared to Lipos so I will purchase what I need of new ones. I am still mystified by the info on Lipos being new to electrics. Right, I charge my Lipos, check capacity and go flying. Pack up, but don’t know when I will fly again. What is the correct procedure at this moment ? Thank you.

Thanks both for your replies. I have an IMAX B6 charger that has discharging facilities. I will wait a little longer for info on its use for this particular application. ps Has this forum a system where I can send private mail to a moderator ? Thanks

Hi Frank ,apologies for delay in reply. I have read that to check the capacity of battery, you should discharge then re charge. As a newly to electrics could you please explain the procedure. Thank you. FB3

Hi all, as a newbie to electrics I am about to purchase a 30amp esc fot a Turnigy 200 watt motor. Will the connections to esc and motor be comparable ? Thanks FB3

Thanks Jon but I won’t be removing the head any time soon. Let’s say is a venerable old motor and a classic example of Laser engineering and quality, and will soon put it to good use again. Thank you. FB3

Thank s for all replies. Hi Jon, on middle of one lug there are letters, MM and after these letters there is a letter K right at the end of same lug. My motor flew my Acrowot for many years, but lately is has been attached to my old Skyways Chippahawk, giving exellent service . Cheers FB3

WoW, some of these models are amazing. Would love to have a go at a sports model sometime. Been building from plans for 30 years, never bought a kit. A plan, sheet balsa, some ply and away to go lol. Foam seems a different kettle of fish. Iknowthat my models fly better when lighter, so foam maybe the way to go. Cheers FB3

I have a super scorpion built in the seventies. It has an MDS 40 fitted. Still flying today, starts first time every time, and has not cut out once after years of flying. At the time of the great MDS debate I was told these engines up to a 40 were good, larger ones not so. Cheers

This should not have been programmed like this in a brand new radio I think. Sorted now. One strange thing I have got to get used to is the cancel and save button is the same lol.

Just checked progg. In “mix” for v tails it gives the following. “V tail on, channel 2 -50%, channel 4-50%.” Perhaps it should show Off ? Cheers

Hi Frank.no I haven’t. This is my first 2.4gh radio, and I am just getting to grips with it. Only arrived a few days ago. Will have a look into the programme to se if there is some thing coupled in the “mix” section. Thanks

Hi all, I swapped gimbals to change from mode 2 to mode1 and sorted stick mode. Checking “display”I found when I used rudder, display shows elevator moving too. Is this correct ? Thanks FB3

Hi all, due to Covid, bereavement and other reasons I have not flown for nearly three years. My Rx batteries are charging well nut must be five or six plus years old. I think I need new ones ? Cheers FB3
