  1. I had a similar problem wth my 15year old Corrolla. Alloy wheels will start to corrode when old and the seal fails. My local tyre dealer removed tyre skimmed the inside of the wheel. Replaced same, no problem since.
  2. Beautiful picture Steve. You must have had a bad night sleep to be up and about at sunrise lol. Perfect for flight Cheers
  3. The good news is that the motor has started. Wonder if when the hot weather was with us I altered the thermostat setting and some thing has frozen?
  4. Thanks both. Yes I think that is the idea. Although the fridge is cold with some frost in the rear, I cannot hear the motor running. I have now turned the thermostat to low, and left door open to see if motor will start. I think the heat of the motor evaporates the water, hence the position of tray directly above motor. Hope it starts lol
  5. Hi all, I have quite an old Hoover fridge. There seems to be a drip tray of sorts mounted above the motor. This is overflowing with water. I have emptied tray but have not found a cause of the trouble. Any suggestions ? Thanks.
  6. Thanks Dave and E B, good advice. On my OAP budget cannot afford to burn anything out lol. I can borrow a wattmeter from club mate no problem. Cheers
  7. Hi Dave, problem is I would like to standardise with 3s for other models I aim to build.
  8. Dai Fledermaus, I would be interested to read the magazine article and plan. Can you get in touch with me via my profile. Cheers
  9. Nice one Dai, got it. Another query from an electrically challenged oap. The motor I intend to use (as it's the only one I have lol) is slightly bigger than recommended. It is, D2830/11, 1000kv. Reading the spec for recommended prop and lipo reads. Lipox2/10x7, and Lipox4/8x4. Does this mean 2cell, and 4cell lipos ? Edited By fly boy3 on 24/08/2020 20:31:54
  10. Thank you Dai, not being up to date on electrics, wondered why a 2s and a 3s have been mentioned. Could it be the 3s is for model with aileron wing ? Cheers
  11. Thanks LRH, pics show it well. All proportions seem to be ok. Cheers
  12. Hi LHR, Yes I agree, throttle manage ment is the way to go. Have any details available re own design ailerons for Novice e ? Thanks. KC. I do have that very same size gel cell for my ic engines, and as a coincidence, I have two 3s 2200 lipos available to use (from a failed project some time ago.) Thanks again
  13. Thanks Shaun, all exellent tips. I am a ic nut used to big fuel tanks, fly till neck hurts, land, coffee, then fly again on second half of tank lol. Just wondered if the Novice e was a floater. Or has it to be flown with power on all the time ? Alternative is build a glider for longer air time, but not so good in Winter, hence the "throw in the air" Novice. Cheers
  14. Thanks both for exellent info and advise. I have already sent an enquiry to George at 4max regarding the novice e and moondancer 2 set ups. LH Dave said he gets about 5 mins flying time with his set up and novice e with ailerons. I have a long trip to field, and limited supply of batteries. Wonder if this flying time could be extended to make my trip worth while ? Thanks Edited By fly boy3 on 23/08/2020 10:59:37
  15. Thanks for the info LRH, looks what you did was OK as you said it flies well. Sent for plan. Cheers
  16. Thanks LHR,. Lots of info in your album. Are the ailerons mentioned in the plan, together with info relating to reduced dihedral, or were they designed and built by you ? Thanks
  17. As usual kc, you are spot on with your comments. I have been building and flying for well over thirty years and built every single model all ic jobs. I need to learn about electrics, hence the Novice e. In Winter our field is very bad, so I needed something to throw into the air. When our hard surface is available for rog Mr Millars moon dancer 2 would be an exellent choice. I have decided to build both, and get to grips with electric business. I am well versed with OS, Super Tigre, MDS, Lasers etc, but clueless when it comes to E motorswith only letters and numbers to deal with, let alone esc, lipos et al. Still we have to move with the times. Thanks for you help and patience.
  18. Thanks kc, what you say makes good sense indeed. Will check these models out ASAP. Cheers.
  19. Hi Dave, I would be very interested in deed, especially the power train. Also can you advise me on what servos you used for ailerons. Any other info on the build will be greatfully recieved. KC, mentioned a good colour scheme for better visibility, I think yours is fine. ps great flying shot too. Thank you.
  20. The Barnstormer looks a good one, but since I do not know much about electrics I would prefer a model designed for electrics rather than trying to do a mod on an ic plane.  Would you know if Outerzone cater for electric models. Cheers and thanks for your help. Edited By fly boy3 on 21/08/2020 15:14:51
  21. Thanks kc, some really good contenders there. I have built some Mr Millars designs, all wonderfull fliers but not an electric one. I made a mistake with motor gen, it is a 2830/11 1000kv (cataract again lol). Alternative would be a foamy, but I prefer balsa and ply. I built and flew the old Rival many years ago too. Great flier on ic.
  22. You are correct kc. A new build of correct proportions would be a better bet. Any suggestions please. Cheers
  23. I am going to build this model as a Winter build. I have a few questions as I am yet to recieve the plan. 1, I want to enlarge the wing to 50 inches from forty inches. ( still waiting cataract op), would I need to enlarge the tail section by same ratio ? 2, I would like to use the following motor, Turnigy Aerodrive D2839 1000kv. Would this be suitable, and if so, what size prop ? 3 I want to use a 3s battery, and fit ailerons. As an ic nut, these electric figures hurt my head lol. Thanks
  24. Thanks for that advice Peter. I need to buy a folding prop anyway so I will take your advice and have a chat with George. Cheers
  25. I have this motor for my EE. Turnigy Aerodrive, D 2830/1000kv If ok, what size folding prop is required ? Thanks
