I look at it this way: by definition Horizon Hobby planes are more expensive than "the other" (Far East knock off) manufacturers. Anything with Quique Somenzini's name on it will be slightly more expensive as well.
BUT, you are almost guaranteed a properly build ARF, with available spare parts, an address to pose questions/turn to with problems, and reasonable after-sales-customer-service.
Is it worth the price? Some think it is, some think it isn't.
I have dubious knock offs, and known brand names. The knock offs (vs. brand names)spend about 50% more time on the building board pre-maiden (to make it all fit properly and flight worthy) and 25% more post-maiden (for repairs). Mind you, I do enjoy tinkering with my toys...
