  1. Regarding stories about the Typhoon, Michael Daunt a Hawker and Gloster test pilot during the war, is reported saying that a camera gun film, taken by a Typhoon whilst mixing it with a Spitfire in mock combat, appeared to show the Spitfie as a biplane due to the vibration in the airframe. Bill Humble, another Hawker test pilot with a reported dry sense of humor, suggested that prolonged exposure to the Typhoons vibrations could cause impotence. Word of this got about and at least one pilot is reorted to have asked his commanding officer for a transfer away from Typhoons because he claimed his marriage was suffering.
  2. Never read that BEB, though it makes sense. On the last two I have done, I fed the wires down a piece of snake outer. I have never tried it, but my mate makes two piano wire hooks which he fits through linkage stoppers mounted into the appropriate holes of the servo arm. Loops in the end of the closed loop wire go onto the hooks and the hooks are used to tension the closed loop, locking them off with the grub screws in the linkage stopper.
  3. I look forward to meeting you all. Do I need to wear a red Carnation ?
  4. Its the Parkzone Extra 300 for me too. Its looking a little battered now after losing it in a hawthorn bush for a couple of days, but still flies well. Always first choice for a quick flight and for playing me back in after a layoff.
  5. Very best wishes to you both for the future Tim.
  6. I am slowly converting my Deans to XT60s as I find they are easier to part and the Turnigy batteries usually come with them fitted.
  7. This is the same problem that many of us suffered with the Parkzone Extra 300, and David Ashby covered it in his review of the model. A couple of washers behind the top motor fixings cured it.
  8. A gas turbine. Not sure which. The owner flys a great display with it.     Edited By Alan Randall on 30/07/2013 23:25:26
  9. Just a quick thankyou to all our friends and visitors who made this years Scale and Jet event at Hucknall a success. Despite the forecast, the weather was kind and we saw some great flying by some brilliant models. Hope to see you all at our September fly in.   Edited By Alan Randall on 30/07/2013 22:58:57 Edited By Alan Randall on 30/07/2013 23:06:13
