  1. I just noticed that stupid predictive text but seasonal what? And yes, free of charge. I did try to solder one of the cell tabs but I think they're Aluminium so wouldn't solder! I think there's a special flux one can use? Anyway, I think this thread has done the rounds and should be closed. Thanks for all the chats, very interesting. As this is only a hobby and I'm an 86yo pensioner, I'll not be investing in an expensive LiPo charger, just can't justify it for the amount of use the battery will get. As Hobby King sell the two basic chargers I've already got I'm sure they'll do the job for the foreseeable future. HAPPY NEW YEAR everybody, have a wonderful 2025.
  2. Boom Boom! Decided to bin the pair. I did open them just to have a look...................... Holy King sending replacement one day...................
  3. I just charged it in the above mentioned Turnigy basic charger which I have been using for years. It says it's a balanced charger. Just heard from Hobby King that they are replacing the battery with a new one so this can go to the tip after being fully discharged!! I now have two dodgy 3S batteries. Maybe open them up, check the cells and make one good out of the two? Be an interesting little project...........
  4. Just curious, IF I cut the Black and White wires going into the plug from the battery, and then plugged it into the charger, would it try to charge the one cell only? (obviously putting the battery in a "safe" place while doing it.
  5. Don't know where you got that price GG, £40+ for two Zeee 2200 LiPos On Amazon.... Ah, just re read your post. Guess yours were tiny LiPos not 2S or 3S I do also use my 3S in a small glider that gets the occasional flight.............
  6. Does the imax b6 charger allow for individual cell charging? Is this possible? As this is a only a hobby and I won't be using the battery/boat very much, as a pensioner I cannot afford to spend load of money on it, hence the Turnigy batter/charger from Hobby King. Both the other chargers mentioned in the thread are, to me, quite expensive😓
  7. In a Turnigy Balanced charger (I think its balanced)) as shown in a previous post.
  8. Last evening I noticed a slight swelling of this battery so left it in a safe place overnight just in case. Today connected it to the charger and the charger now flashes four times indication one cell under voltage. Checked the cell voltages and found; Black to White 3.780 White to Yellow 3,730 Yellow to Red 0.933 Definitely one for the bin or is it salvageable? I think that cell is past the point of no return! Leccyflyer, which Amazon batteries do you use please, there are dozens of them? Still in communication with Hobby King so still might get a replacement!
  9. Thanks everyone, especially leccy. I have read and digested the Do's and Don'ts. I have two of the Turnigy chargers. When I bought the new battery I thought the charging connector was a bit dodgy on my old charger so bought a new one at the same time.. The suggestion to re charge it doesn't work. As soon as I plug the battery into the charger I get all three LEDs flashing six times - unbalance - or will it continue to charge until they do balance? As I wanted to try the boat today I remembered I had another of these batteries in a little box I made to power a heater of my camera lens when doing astro photography so opened up the box only to find the battery "stolen"!! One for the bin me thinks!! Guess I'll have to wait and see what HobbyKing comes back with.
  10. Very annoying, was going for sea trials on my new build MTB!!
  11. Thanks folk, already contacted Hobby King where I bought both charger and battery in May!
  12. Thanks guys, slap on the wrist accepted. It was on the concrete floor in the middle of an empty garage so couldn't have caused much harm!! Voltages: 3.878, 3.835, 3.272 total 10.98 Think I'll discharge, put it in the boat and run the engine and then re charge?
  13. Got a hardly used Turnigy 2.2 battery and having just about completed my scratch build MTB thought I'd better charge it for the sea trials. Used my new Turnigy E3 charger and after an all night charge all three LEDs on the charger are flashing six times then a one second pause. The manual states "There is a 300mv difference of voltage between battery pack". Is this serious??? Thanks
  14. Sorry to resurrect this old thread but at 85 I am just getting back into flying so have dusted off my old Hobby King Walrus. Amazingly everything seems to work!! I've bought a cheapo FlySky FSi6 combo which seems to do the job but hasn't got a lot of functions compared to my old Futaba back in the day. It does have a couple of "mix" options so I've set one up for flaps/elevator, about 10% down elevator when flaps deployed, and the second aileron/rudder. I seem to remember that one should add a little +ve rudder (same way as you're turning) mixed with the ailerons. Is there a recommended % for the rudder movement or trial and error? Bear with me............ Cheers
  15. Hi Steve. Where did this plan come from Steve, it's just the job but is there a wing plan??
