They fly nice in the wind and handle well too.
I had a good result one of my chums bought a load of stuff from a bereavement sale.
In an old box was a original glass fibre cowl and wheel pants.
Bonus was the pants had the collets moulded in from new.

Having sold my trusty old Stampe in a moment of madness
I am now in process of resurrecting another old Stampe that has been waiting in the wings.
I have measured the wing incidence of the plan and make it all surfaces at zero in relation to them all.
They are all + 4 degrees up at front measured from upper side fuselage longron if I have done it accurately.
So this agrees with post made by Biggles Elder Brother previously in this thread topic.
Hope this helps any one who is looking.
I would agree it is a brilliant plane big and bulky but so much fun.
Ive got the bug bad for them.
I still have an origional kit untouched plus one that has been built but never finished, left to rot in a shed by previous builder so has water marks on it and it looks like it has wood worm.
I also have the quarter scale Svenson Stampe

Don't know much about 2.4gig.
But I have seen adverts for Spectrum telemetry that plugs into an I phone.
How can you then use it safely

HiNo need to cut a key way as a good fitting tapered adaptor will do, this is not going to have any load on it.You would have to be very unlucky if it slipped.Personally I would get a 1/4 x32 spark plug and not damage the head just in case you want to return it to glow. May-bee shim up head to reduce compression if needed.

I have had two whilst reno racing both with the same guy on different daysThe first one was when I was overflown result was his prop cut it's way the whole length of my fuz until he got to close to one of my bowden cables and only chipped his prop my plane was shreded and not much left of itThe second one was just after mass hand launch due to wind direction change we changed the direction of launch but not the way we stood in line in pilot box I was a bit hasty in turning towards first post after launch and took him out after about 5 seconds of flight

When I get one I will put a laser 70 in it for sureBert
-
WellI went out and flew the other one and they are totally different to fly.I have checked the c/g and both are about the same the only difference is that the one with the BX1 is heavier. As I have another FS90 my plan is to re engine the heavy one and see if it makes much difference
-
I went to BMFA nationals and got another Toot in the bring and buyFitted a OS BX1 as this lined up with original mount and throttle rose jointGood power but over all to heavy not nice to fly like my other one with the old OS FS90Bert
-
Hi to allI went to the BMFA nationals again this year and bagged another TootIn quite nice condition. It came with an engine mount already fitted and as there are no other holes in the firewall I can only assume that the mount was fitted from new.The only engine I had that matched the mount size and holes was an OS BX1 and also throttle link and eyelet went straight on.I test flew it and came to conclusion that the engine is to heavy for the plane. It was a flight with a sinking feeling I must confess to not checking the C/G but it did respond well to elevator control,My other one powered by an old OS FS 90 is a lot better to fly and defiantly has better glide characteristicsBert
-
I will need to set the laser back into the firewall so What I have done is fitted OS FS 90 as it flew well with this combination, and will do rework for laser during the winter timeBert
-
Hi after a bit of shed timeI have found the old OS FS 90 is a straight forward fitMy T/Tigre 91 fs slightly to long because carb fowls the engine mount screwLaser 120 to longSaito 130 twin just about fits ( but not sure about the actual power output as instruction say it has same power as a 60 two strokeI think it will be the Laser in the endBert
-
HiI have now collected my TootShe was previously powered by an old OS FS 90 four stroke the one with the timing gear at the back of the engine.I have got one although old I only ran it for the first time early this year and it still needs to be run in.My intention was to put a Laser 120 in her the only thing that has put me of at the moment is that the Laser is to long.So I think I will put the OS 90 in for the time being as I know she flew very well although a bit more power would be handy. She is probably about twenty years old and it shows in her condition she is in need of a recover and tidy up.I think I will fly her for a while and then strip her out for repairs and recover and get the Laser to fit.Bert

I have been offered a secondhand TootsSo I will be giving up with the build at momentBert
-
Hi to allWell after cutting some of the parts out I got side tracked with other projects. It has been that long since I started I was asked the other day how far I had got with the build of tootsI since have been offered a secondhand one at a very reasonable priceSo I will be collecting her shortly and have got a Laser 120 to fit into herBert

Hear it is before I put it in the T240I am going to hide in a cowlJust like the Tartan no spares are available for the starter anymoreStill it's only fun fun funbert
-
Hi PhilIt might seem mad to most and a waste of time but hey it's only fun trying different stuff' it's what makes us all different.I am a bit nutty myself I own two 22cc single tartans and two 44cc twin'sI have never ran any of the single's yet and only really got them for spares for the twin'sT240 yes that's the way I am going, I got a Fema on board starter for one of the twins and have bolted it and a twin to a T240.I have had touble with the tilloison carb and the reed valve.I found the reed valve not closing properly and pump not workingI had to flat off the reed valve holder and noted that the screws must not be to tightI have pulled apart the carb and cleaned it and gave the flappy vales a slight tweakingI have managed now to get the engine to start with the onboard starter although this was only on one cylinder as my starter battery was to flat to turn over engine with both plugs in.But hey it did start and ran wellSo now I am waiting for batteries to become fully chargeOne thing I would say is that twin glow plugs don't like starter power panel glow driversI found this out with my G Mark 30 twin ran it at home using a glow stick went to field and forgot glow stick and used power panel and couldn't understand why engine would not start then pulled out both plugs and checked them put them back in and still no go then found out what was going on and started it on one cylinder then transfered to other cylinder' Probably not a bad idea as you will now that both are running just by sound. yes I know i could have touched exhaust or headYou may be able to view my twin on mmfc egerton then forum onboard startingBert

So sad to hear that.
Will you rebuild it.
At least you have a top wing completed.
