  1. Re Phil 9's post, the only rip off was my bank account ! I will not be re- stocking the gloves...just want rid of the stock. If Phil would like to go get some made up and sell them at a £20 per pair....his bank account would also get a good 'ripping off' Perhaps his bank account and mine could chunter to each other about how hard they had been hit ! Joking apart, they are a genuine 'sell off at a loss to clear the stock' Thanks kevin
  2. I took Martin's advice & looked it (sobs) up on google, but only found reference to the verb 'to sob' or weep...so I reckon Martin could be right about the sovereigns. We need Stephen to confirm whether we are on the right lines or not.
  3. The price is not due to the warmer weather, the reason can be seen under the forum entry titled 'clearance sale'....the price will remain the same until they are gone, irrespective of the weather. I am not sure what the above entry means by 'there 50 sobs now' ???
  4. Andy Yours will be posted tomorrow...the price isn't painful due to the American intervention...so don't feel bad, just go and enjoy them ! Regards kevin
  5. Hi Matt, They are very resilient, it will take many years to wear them through. Mine have been very well used for 3 years now and no hint of any scuffing or wear (I also fly 'thumbs on top'...because the leather is soft, it tends to mould into the spikey surface of the tx sticks, rather than scuff or wear on them.....then leaves no visible trace of where the spikey tx stick ends were. Thanks kevin
  6. An American company has bought my interests in this product and they will be selling it for a different use, As a result, I am selling my remaining stock (at a loss) to wind things up at this end. When they are gone, they are gone...bargains to be had, Visit rcgloves.com for details and thank you for your support and custom. Regards Kevin Johnson
  7. Hi Martyn Thanks for the advice, I will just bin 'em then. Thanks kev
  8. I must get a spam bank e.mail most days, usually telling me that my account needs my verify (not my verification !) I like to respond and put ludicrous answers in the boxes provided and end with encouraging the spammers to try earning a living or get a proper job and I encourage them to go forth and multiply !.......I never get an answer back though. I encourage as many people as possible to respond to these ridiculous hoaxes in the hope that the spammers waste a lot of time looking at answers, only to be miffed when we don't provide money, bank details, passwords....etc. If enough people do it, it might just overwhelm the spammers 'in box' or take up so much of their time that they find working for a living more fruitful. Kev
  9. The ones on ebay are demo 'try & fly' pairs...not brand new ones. If you are a member of a club, I am happy to send some demo pairs out to your club for you to examine & have a go with..then you can make an informed decision......once that has happened, I can't sell them as new...hence the demo pairs being on ebay at a reduced price. I do understand that the price issue and the feedback I have had is that once actually seen, used and examined, people can see where the cost is involved. I remember buying my first goretex kagool in the early 80's and it was about £100 at the time(which was considerably more than a non breathable kagool at that time)....the difference however was staggering...no condensation on the inside....etc....and so it is with these gloves...they are not comparable with other gloves on the market. Ask your club committee to approach me about some demo ones for your club to borrow for a weekend to 'try & fly' and you may find that you like them, and if they are not for you....you can at least make an informed decision. Many thanks Kevin
  10. Re the inner gloves being separate, we were offered the option of the inner being attached to the glove but having it separate means that it fits around your fingers and hands independently of the creases where the leather bends and therefore offers better insulation. secondly, you can manually straighten the inner gloves if they become twisted.
  11. Could I just present a couple of objective facts re these gloves, facts that were possibly not known earlier in this thread. Cape leather has now become a generic term to describe the finest leather used to make quality items, but within that category there are finer and coarser grades of leather...for example....cape leather polo gloves retail at about £70 but are much tougher leather and made to withstand a rough life gripping a polo mallet and reins, and a cape leather sofa would be made from leather far too thick for gloves. With the advent of touch screen technology, NATO pilots needed a thinner cape leather outer glove than previously required as greater tactility was required Our gloves at rcgloves.com are made from the finest of the fine cape leather and are bespoke ordered. It is true that there is loads of cape leather about, but it is not all of this fine grade. Violoft does indeed feel like cotton, it is the flat fibres in the fabric which give it the soft 'cotton like feel' and help trap pockets warm air when combined with the round fibres. That is the whole idea of using this fabric for the inner glove, but the message is that violoft gloves are like having wool gloves on only they are thinner, warmer and softer. I admit that I have added a very modest mark up on the gloves, but, the advert and website are not feeding you BS. I could understand someone feeling that way if they had thought that cape leather was a uniform single grade of leather and I hope this does not provoke an argument and I am not trying to be confrontational, just possibly clearing up a misunderstanding. I can understand that some people could be outraged at the price, and would never buy any of our gloves and that is their right and choice of course. There are plenty of cape leather gloves on the market, but don't assume that they are made from the absolute finest cape leather, for example the below link is an example of some gloves which don't have pique stitched seams and are very fine gloves, no doubt, but may not afford the tactility that we require for rc use. I hope this gives an objective overview, sorry it's so long, but I couldn't get all this onto a couple of lines. Kevin Johnson at rcgloves.com **LINK**

  13. Thank you for the advice....appologies for posting in the wrong section ( first time...didn't realise ) Frank.. I think you are right about the cold weather effecting the bateries and it may be that the batteries were not quite 100% maximum charged up. Thank you. Kevin
  14. Santa has brought me a Parkzone mini Mustang ( my wife bought it for me actually - of course ! ) and I have just flown it today ( boxing day ) After about 2 minutes of flight, the motor began to 'hunt' slighly indicating that the battery was getting low. I was able to fly for a minute or two more & then landed with the 'low cut off' about to ...... err.... 'cut off'..... which it did shortly afterwards. I had the same experience with a couple of extra batteries. The plane flies really well, like a first low wing sport aerobat, but I feel that the flight time was dissapointingly short on each battery. Has anyone had a different or similar experience, or is this the normal. Thanks
