  1. Hi Danny, With regards the silk, I used a standard White Silk. 5mm Pongee 100% silk from Homecrafts @ £4.99 per sq m. It was used on the chippy, my first attempt at silk over tisssue. very pleased with result. Regards SW
  2. Still a long way off with mine, although I have decicded to place the servos just in front of F4 and intend to use wire and carbon rod for push rods. Throttle servo will fit below servo tray. Regards SW

  4. Hi Andy, Just about to consider tank and radio layout before starting to put fusealge sides together. I am considering a similar layout as yours. How do you plan access to tank and throttle servo? Regards SW
  5. Hi Danny, Although you are past the left hand sheeting, the photo shows panel lines you have are correct. Regards SW
  6. I will be powering mine with a laser and had thought of a 100 or 120, as this would suit future models. Both of these engines are out of production at the moment and after correspondence with Jon (Laser), his recommendation is that their 80 would be suitable, running a 15x6 prop. The 120 is a short stroke engine that likes to rev a little. Regards SW
  7. Slow progress, but at least progress. When cutting the ribs I have noticed that the edge being cut is not as square as I would like. I normally use several cuts and keep the blade square, but still end up with less than perfect edges. Not really to much of a problem as these will get sanded square, would be nice to get ab better edge to start with. Regards SW
  8. As regards to the fidelity of any scale documentation just a few thoughts. When this model was designed there would be no easy access to photos or drawings that we have today and nobody would have been using CAD. Today with a few clicks of the mouse we can be inundated with information. Thus if we really want an accurate scale model then the only way is to design it from scratch. Somtimes its hard to take a step back from all the information and be content with a model that is not 100% scale fidelity, especialy from the surface detail that modern digital cameras provide. At least with all the information we have a choice on how much or little we add, although not sure if its a bleesing or a curse. Just like to say thanks to the guys you have taken the time to download the photos from their vist. Regards SW
  9. Nice idea with using scraps of balsa as clamps, maygive that a go, likely to use servos in wing aswell. Regards SW
  10. Hi Gents, Any fury builders going to Gaydon this weekend? If so anybody fancy meeting up? Regards SW
  11. Hopefully this one will get built a little quicker than the chippy, although with two wing's it's asking a lot. Would be grateful if a mod could make the graphic above the header please. Late for start of class, at least I've made a start. It will be powered by a laser, not sure what size yet, possibly a 1.20 or 1.55 Will get the tailplane and elevators done next, wings will follow once Danny has done the ground work. But I do need to get some more done on the chippy. Regards SW   Edited By Silver Wolf on 25/10/2018 18:20:40
  12. Looking good, wish i could build that quick. Thanks for the tip with regards FS5, duly noted on plan. SW
  13. There you go John, hope they are clear enough. Hope to make a start on mine within the next week or two. I will be using a laser for power, not sure what size. Dick van Mourik wrote an article in RC scale international (2004) and commented that the laser 70 was marginal but found the 120 to be a perfect match. Regards SW
