  1. It seems Jr are back in the market again. They have even advertised pretty colourful transmitters. Hope its true. It was an excellent product. Cheers Graeme
  2. Has anyone had experience of the Blackhorse Heinkel HE-112b please? Thanks Graeme
  3. Hello Den, I recently bought a set of Aircraft Mechanics 120's. Cost is about half way between E-Flight and HK. They look to be very well made and work well on the bench. I'm putting them in a Mick Reeves Focke Wulf 190D. I have not used them in action. They may be an option for you. Regards Graeme
  4. Colin, I started the Focke Wulf in February and have been making steady progress. I am a slow builder, (I seem to think more than build), so it will be some time before completion. But that's ok. There is no rush. It'll be done when it's done. here's a couple of pictures. All the best Graeme   Edited By Graeme Poke on 22/06/2017 10:00:01
  5. Hello Chris, I picked up my retracts today. No instructions but specifications on the side of the box, one of which states "Built-in overload/current protection". Hope all good. Thanks for your help, Regards Graeme
  6. Thanks for that Chris. They should be ok. I am supposedly receiving a set of 60-120 tomorrow. Cheers Graeme
  7. Hi Chris, Did you determine if they have stall protection please? Thanks Graeme
  8. Yes Frank, they are the ones. Good point Chris. I haven't been able to determine if they have stall protection. It's needed I believe. I will have another talk with my supplier. I'll be interested in your findings Chris. Cheers Graeme
  9. Superb flying. Kathy & I were in Croatia in 2013. What a lovely country. Thanks Jo. All the best, Graeme
  10. Yes Chris, they do look good on the Web. I haven't seen them in the flesh. I have been quoted $150 Aus, without freight for 90 -120 warbirds. . E flight around $240 and HK range roughly $80 to $100. They have been recommended, so I will order a set for my Focke Wulf. Thanks Graeme
  11. Has anyone had any experience of "Aircraft Mechanics" (brand name I think) electric retracts please? Cheers Graeme
  12. Thanks Dwain for the clip. That looks straight forward. Just roll the long way for a turn. Graeme
  13. Ha Ha, thanks John. I'll do that walk in Derry next time I am in N. Ireland. Looks lovely. Go well Graeme
  14. Thanks for all the useful advice. There is a lot of wisdom in that lot. I agree Dennis. Lots of practice. Yes Brian, I have been experimenting with different models and the best so far has been the Staudacher. But it's still hard. It seems to happen all too fast. I did wonder Andy, whether I was unintensionally slipping in a bit of elevator when using rudder. I'm trying to learn it so that I can display my YT 72" Spitfire to best advantage in our Club's upcoming "Scale Ralle~. I guess I will keep experimenting and practice as Dennis says. I was hoping there was an easier way! Well Martin, it's interesting you mentioned the Derry Turn. That was going to be my next question. I haven't a clear idea of exactly the track it takes and how it looks. I believe there is a 270degree roll in there somewhere. I think Mr. Derry used different sequences depending on the situation. He liked to surprise the crowd. I'll keep at it. Cheers Graeme
  15. I have been trying to fly what I think is the Farnborough pass without success. I keep turning or diving or just losing track. it seems harder than knife edge which I'm not doing too well either. Would anyone be able to help please? Regards Graeme
  16. Yes please Maurice. I also have a Mick Reeves 190D9 which I have just started to build. So i am always keen to see how other modellers go about their projects. There is always something to learn. Go well Graeme
  17. Heck, I haven't received the January copy yet. The December edition turned up about 10 days ago! Graeme
  18. What a fantastic model John. You have built a superb Aeroplane. Being a Spitfire tragic, I visited the Solent Sky Museum at Southhampton in July. I really enjoyed seeing the real aircraft. It's a fascinating story. They had a couple of models as well. I have often thought of building an RC model so I will be following your build with great interest. Incidentally, I went to some trouble to visit as we live in Tasmania. All the best Graeme
  19. Ah Colin, so that's where our outdoor setting went. I wondered what had happened to it. But it good to see that it's being put to good use. The model looks terrific by the way. You have knocked that together pretty quickly. Well done. Happy first flight. All the best Graeme
  20. Is it true that JR have ceased operations? Cheers Graeme
  21. Thank you Chris and Chris. I made the cannon as suggested by you Chris, except I used a pedestal drill. They are ok. I will now experiment with both ideas. I hadn't thought of using a nylon bolt. Cheers Graeme
  22. I have made up a couple of cannon from 6mm dowel and balsa for my 1/6th scale YT Spitfire. I thought I would drill an 8mm hole in the leading edge and glue in a length of brass tube. Then insert and remove the cannon as I wish to avoid damage when carting. Would drilling holes in the leading edge cause a weakness in the wing such that it could fail? Any alternate suggestions please? Happy New Year Graeme
