  1. Where does Companion normally save files? I've read the models and settings from my old Taranis and want to write them to the new one, all I know is that Companion called it document1 but I can't locate it. Is it possible to save the model file to a designated folder? Wow there's always more to learn I thought once you read the models from a transmitter they were automatically stored in Companion not just read! no wonder i could only find outdated model files i had saved from the sdcard.

  3. Thank you soooo much Ron, for the clear instructions, it really saved the day. I've been using a Taranis for years but have never had to tell Companion where the files are located before. I really don't understand how a fresh install of the latest Companion can look for old copies of files!
  4. When i try to update my recently acquired DX9+2019se to the latest version as I'm running on my DX9+, I get "executable/taranis/companion2.2/dfu.exe not found" I'm using Companion 2.3.14 and have made several downloads of the 1/10/2021 update. I still get the same message, I've deleted all older files when i successfully updated my DX9+ several months ago. Any help/commnts appreciated.
  5. Check out the contacts from a Spektrum battery box from a DX7s or similar tx. They should be readily available, most are not used because they are not needed with a lithium battery.
  6. I've just updated to Opentx 2.3.14 from 2.2.4, installed the new companion 2.3 first and had no problem other than the internal RF was turned off in model setup, never had to turn it on before. Is there a revision of Companion with every revision of firmware, or just with major releases?
  7. Not quite the same, now you have to select the internal RF to ON. Never had to do that before.
  8. I've recently upgraded from Open Tx 2.2.4 to 3.1.14. It's been o,k. so far but creating a new model I can't find the bind or range items. Have they moved?
  9. I've reassembled the engine. it doesn't work. There is very little tank pressure, only 10mm of the feed pipe fills with each flick, Even with the starter the engine doesn't get a prime. I suspect the regulator, it looks all good. What does a bad diaphragm look like? There are no holes or splits in it.
  10. What size clunk tube do you use? Myself, nearly all my clunk tubes are 2mm bore I wouldn't try to fit a 3.5 mm tube inside one of those. Any way if the clunk is too rigid it probably wouldn't fall to the bottom in flight even less likely inverted. That's why the clunk tubes on Slec tanks are so thin, so that a light weight clunk falls to the bottom.
  11. I've sorted the clip problem. a 3.2mm e clip fits the grove on a 4mm shaft well enough.
  12. That's interesting Modelfixings sell e clips by the groove diameter, (how do you measure that) and GWR sell by shaft diameter and their clips do push onto a 4mm shaft without a grove.
  13. I stripped my newly aquired engine to de-gum it. The cam followers and rocker shafts were stuck tight. In the process I Iost an e clip from the rocker shaft. Not much of a problem i thought so I ordered a pack of 4mm e clips from GWR fasteners. They don't fit. They are Din 6799, but the engine is Japanese. What standard do I look for or should I try Just Engines? The larger one in the photo is Din, the smaller one is original.
  14. Phillip Lewis 3 Thank you Those are the ones I wanted. I found them on this forum but can't locate the link again.
  15. Last week when browsing through this Frsky forum I came across a link one contributor posted to some (maybe 6 or 7) manuals on OpenTx and Taranis radio. I downloaded the Companion manual written in February 2019, by Martin Phillips Now I can't find it again! I want the X9D+ manual. Has anyone one seen it and remembers where?
  16. Where can you pick up a ppm input in the DX9+ for a ppm receiver for a trainer buddy and programme the trainer switch to recognise it?
  17. I checked both Model Shop Leeds and Sussex Model Centre and didn't find it. I've got one now though from RapidRC Thanks to everyone.
  18. 2 replies with the same dealer recomended. Are they going out of fashion for some reason? Maybe they are not as reliable as the plain dot that everyone has in stock.
  19. Thanks for the link Dennis they've got exactly what i am looking for- Ming Yang Fuel Filler Valve (Glow and Petrol) L-MG714. Just couldn't find it at any of my normal suppliers.
  20. Is there a reason why I can't find a 2 way fuel dot in any of the mainstream dealer websites? There are lots of terminations for the fill line but one to go in the feed line I cannot locate.
  21. I dropped my charger it still works but the banana sockets are hanging by the internal wiring and the screw mountings are broken off'. It's beyond repair. If you have a non working LX41b, I'll pay a nominal price plus P&P
  22. Easy peasy, I 've been rying to cut and paste!
  23. Yes it's quite a good way to pass time better than the TV. If you can teach me how to include the previous post into a reply then I will have learned something today as well.
  24. If you go into the version screen menu long press into Radio setup 4 short presses on Page, there is the 'EEprom Backup' and Factory reset! Thanks for all the help. It's nice to know help is here when needed
