  1. To be honest I think model shops have to have an 'on line' presence to survive they can't just depend on passing trade with the high overheads of commercial property. Apart from my VERY local model shop I use Sussex Models and King Llyn over night delivery if you can't get to the shop...I guess it's a sign of the times!
  2. Well hands up...I'm the lucky one 'Mick Charles Models' (Epsom) is at the bottom of my road. Spent hours... and a few quid in there JayCee
  3. I notice from the poll that 20% are 'On Line' buyers. I have to admit that I do purchase most of my Lipo batteries 'On Line' due to price, but try to use my local model shop as much as I can...once there gone there gone! Nice to meet up with other local modellers and browse through all the goodies on display. JayCee

    Olympus F3A

Hi Read the review in the March edition of RCME on the Olympus F3A all foam from CML distribution. Was unable to find any 'threads' relating to this model, has anybody got one? what are your views? Nigel Hawes article suggests that he wasn't impressed straight out of the box, but 'Steve Burgess' stepped in and made several adjustments? but didn't expand on what they were! Appears to be on back order everywhere, any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  5. Hi John yes heard about the Katana demise, I'm sure it wasn't pilot error you must tell me more!! well have the motor out after about three hours, in the end I decided to try and pull the motor shaft forwards after releasing the retaining grub screw, unfortunately the failed baring was welded to the shaft so that didn't work either, so in the end my lovely Hacker A30 10XL was cut into pieces with a diamond cutter in my Dremel. The joys of flying!! JC
  6. Thanks once again to all for your links and suggestions. The main problem is access, this prop adaptor is fitted in a Sebart Angel 30e which doesn't have a removable cowl. therefore the adaptor only sticks out about 6mm from the front of the plane with only about 8mm gap around it, all a very tight fit. So unable to have access to heat it up. May have to get the diamond cutters out on the Dremel and do some major surgery. jaycee
  7. Thanks guys just what I wanted I can put my hacksaw away now jaycee
  8. Hi Very difficult to try and find the exact thread title, so bare with me. I'm trying to locate a tool to remove a stuck prop adaptor, in other words the cone shaped adaptor that fits on the electric motor shaft which fits tighter to the shaft the more you tighten the prop. i had a motor failure but I'm unable to remove the motor because the adaptor is jammed solid. i assume there must be a tool perhaps called a Puller' but have been unable to find anything. Any help would be appreciated. thanks jaycee
  9. Thanks guys for all your help, going to remove the motor and reinstall inserting washers to give me the necessary down and right thrust. Will let you know how it goes. jaycee
  10. Hi wonder if someone can help. Purchased a Sebart Angel 30 and on its maiden flight the motor fire wall broke loose (second time I have had this problem with Sebarts!) managed to land without damage but after carrying out repairs I have lost the motor thrust angle. As far as I recall there is a slight Right-Down angle, viewing from the rear! Any help would be appreciated JayCee
  11. Not as far as I am aware as it was just internal UK mail. There wasn't a customs notification on the package, and as I purchased from the global warehouse I didn't pay VAT
  12. Ah obviously must get up the Downs more often lol Thought I would post just to cheer myself up, been in bed all over Christmas with the flu! Notice you and a few of the other tough guys are up there what ever the weather lol Best wishes for the New Year to you and all at RCME.
  13. This is strange. I try if possible to order from HK UK warehouse, however they do not stock everything. I have been trying for ages to obtain to obtain an out of stock Rhino Lipo only available from the global warehouse. I received an email saying that they were back in stock so I ordered one expecting to wait a few weeks for delivery. it arrived 48 hours later via Royal Mail! As far as I am aware Royal Mail will not ship HK Lipos but it still didn't explain it arriving so quickly especially over the Christmas period. A close look at the packaging shows it was dispatched from 'Unit 5 Tim's Boatyard Staines Middlesex no connection to HK UK who don't stock Rhino brand Lipos anyway. any ideas?
  14. Ahh 'Telemetry' dear Watson! <grin> If only... Still using my Futaba 10cg no such goodies I'm afraid!
