  1. From the list I'd like to see the following 1. Mosquito 2. Beaufighter 3. Hurricane All using Electric But just for a challenge for Tony, how about the Harrier. I'm sure it could be done with couple of EDFs!
  2. Please add me to this ever growing list of hopefuls I can show a Moth on a battlship ...
  3. 1. de Havilland Mosquito. 25-30 size or better still electric equiv. 2 Bristol Beaufighter. Same power as above 3 Messerschmitt ME109
  4. You can get  good cheap power supply by using one from a pc. Output voltage is usually 3.3v, 5v and 12v  Just looked at a brand new 550W one for £18
  5. Sounds good to me Timbo. I was thinking about getting the e-Station BC6. Has all the features of the one you reviewed above plus a built in transformer and balancer. All for less than £100 too
  6. Did notice that the second windows actually shows Advent day 11 Is this day 11's prize, or is it labelled incorrectly Cheers
  7. Hi Timbo So how would you rate this against something like a propeak Prodigy ? Or your other chargers for that matter
  8. Tims quicklaunch strategy backfired when the team threw him the radio cassette by mistake.
  9. Good to see RMCE website flourishing so well. I definately like the new format mag and this site is a definate bonus. Now all you need to do is make the weather improve so we can all get more flying in Chris
  10. The classifieds ain't the problem. It's all the other pages like this one with 8 moving adverts alone on them. It kills the scrolling. I've got no problems with adverts per se as it raises revenue for RCME which makes for a better site but when it affects my enjoyment of the web-site I have to say something. I suspect the ones here haven't been optimised very well. (because the page slows down when you go past them - strange that!) You just need to look at somewhere like RC Universe who have just as many adverts but everything still runs smoothly. This site even runs slower than normal at work and I don't have a slow pc there. Chris
  11. I've always used baby bum wipes on my planes. Sealable container and smells nice too. Heck, if it can remove that goo from a baby then oil will be no problem at all.
  12. Our transmitters aren't the only bits of equipment to use the 2.4Ghz band. Most wireless routers do, as do video link systems to name but 2. What's to stop any of these 'other' systems from interfering with our much more important equipment? Could we see more crashes due to interference because some twit down the road bought a cheap wireless router on import that doesn't conform to UK rules & regs?
  13. And all I wanted to know was which plane would be best for me! Just think if I asked a difficult question like is 2.4Ghz better than 35Mhz. No please don't start :o)
  14. And you guys know all about electricity too! Wow, I'm impressed. David, is there a special Topic just for reminiscing? I can feel the stories coming from Timbo and Myron already. Non-computer radios, valves, dope & tissue :-) Te He Happy B'days (for a combined 127 years)
  15. All my stuff is packed away as we're moving soon but I did have a 10' x 12' shed and 2 large workbenches made from 8"x2" wood. Flipping heavy but very stable and flat. New place I get all of the garage. Hmmmm nice :o) Can't wait I quite like the idea of using magnets but with the amount needed it would work out quite expensive. Off to B&Q/homebase for a peruse. I've heard that the internal doors with metal braces underneath is a good alternative. Flat and relatively light.
  16. Thanks Roy and David. Timbo, you can have your 2p back :o) although I do agree entirely with the shoulder wing planes comments whether they are sukhois or extras. I hate samey. So I think it's the Funjet for me. I've already got an AcroWot and a now demised Shostring :o( and was looking for something extra (no pun intended) to take to the field when I don't want to do 'proper flying', just hoof around the sky. The plus side is all the bits are transferrable. Cheers guys
  17. I'll have some of what Myron is drinking. Might help my flying too :o) Moving those pesky adverts off screen has helped a bit - cheers Happy B'day for last week Timbo
  18. You could be right on the re-build. Shivver :o( The point of the this post though (hauling everyone back from the horizon) was to point out that this web-site appears much slower than many others I use (RC Universe included). All of which have adverts too. I put this down to the amount of Flash adverts used which can be remedied but I guess won't/can't. Chris
  19. Win XP & Firefox Like I say earlier though - all the sister sites seem to work ok Odd
  20. That's right Timbo it's SDRAM (Shows how old it is) and the pc can take a max of 512Mb. So, just bought 2 x 256Mb off eBay for £11. Agree with the Futaba programming - set it and forget it. It's about the only time I've ever had to RTFM (And that from someone in the the IT industry!) Cheers Chris
  21. I was all set to get the Multiplex FunJet for my first foray into electric flight when RCME comes along and throws a spanner in the works by way of the review of the Seagull Extra 300 in the September mag. Both use the same power plant, esc, LoPo's etc but, which to get ? Does anyone have experience of either or better still both? How do their flying characteristics compare ? Thanks Chris p.s. Of course if I win the latest comp. on this web-site then the decision will be easy :-)
