  1. My advice is, if You really want to learn to fly well, learn to slope soar, get a foamy then progress to "full house" model, that really reaches you how to handle something in the air as there no safety blanket of an engine when its going tits up. all the best flyers I've seen fly slope. plus you can fly for literally hours at a time, none of this 10 mins a tank or battery stuff ha.
  2. hi Andy, yeah I Have A cert, think its standard requirement? cheers.
  3. Hi all, im moving from Durham to Teeside in the coming months and I'm looking for a club, I do lots of slope and flat too... as for models, after a messy break up im lest without much so trying to build my fleet again, starting with a few gliders but Weill be looking at the likes of another acrowot, lots wot( I like the Foss stuff) another cub and whatever takes my fancy so..... where's best around the inglby area? Dan.
  4. Glassing the fus with 4oz cloth and exw-kote. Having built literally hundreds of carbon and GRP yachts I was u sure if using it but it’s in my kitchen/living room so I wanted no mess or smell and the stuff goes on soooo well. None of this credit card scraping rubbish, use a roller and paint brush, and literally the bare minimum resin to wet the cloth.
  5. A coat of sanding sealer after final shaping, it toughens it up a touch whilst it’s on the bench, I was gonna cover it with Oracover etc but I think it’s come up enough for a light clear glass finish with chocolate brown and cream detail I think !
  6. Hi, to be honest no the quality isn’t as good as my last one, the wings were poorly veneered, the wing tip blocks are too thin and a few other niggles
  7. I know this was used with glass cloth a while ago, anyone using it these days? I’ve got easy-kote but it’s expensive and I’m poor these days lol this is blasphemy fir me coming from a boat building back ground too but I o my have my kitchen to work in so no epoxy as it’s smelly lol so… whose using what with glass cloth
  8. Have I missed something, posts removed etc lol
  9. I need to fashion a canopy though as mines missing
  10. Ok so here’s the progress, epoxied the wing together, put leading and trailing edges on with pva, glued up the fuz with cyno, it’s straight and square too!
  11. bingo! Richard confirmed the other day its a luna! I'm ditching the motor and converting it to glider only... can't afford 4 cell lipos lol
  12. What’s decent iron on film but not absurdly expensive?
  13. Ok so here’s the progress, epoxied the wing together, put leading and trailing edges on with pva, glued up the fuz with cyno, it’s straight and square too!
  14. Annnnd go!! Ok so just got another phase 6 kit from T9 ( my last one with almost all my models and parts got dumped by the ex… long story lol) so I’ll be sticking up some pics and what I’m doing along the way, building in the kitchen now I don’t have a fully kitted workshop! It’ll not be the beautifully clear glassed gloss finished model that I put Hundreds of hours in to this time! I’m hoping to be flying it within 2 weeks 🤣😬
  15. Since my last phase 6 was left at the exes I'm going to build another, not the beautiful clear glass job like last one but a quick build and covered ( the same look as the original Chris Foss one). I'm a joiner and use cyno and accelerant daily at work and its very strong and not brittle as people think... so has anyone built all "wood" parts of any build just with cyan to good affect? What say ye all?
  16. Cheers, I can’t find a model quite the same as mine in their line up
  17. I got it a few years ago and haven’t a clue… no cog markings on it too which is a pain!
  18. just found instructions pdf online (facebook)... 3.5 to 3.75 from the root
  19. Just dug my wildthing out and need to know the cog... cheers!
