  1. I will say again. Lipos are fine to post as long as they are NOT fitted to equipment ARE packaged seperatly and are BRAND NEW. I am trying to send a 1980s Futaba with a built in NICAD and a seperate NIMH Rx pack. These are excluded no matter how they are packed or what age they are.
  2. Check it out!! http://www.postoffice.co.uk/prohibited-goods-uk
  3. Actually they are happy to post a Lipo if it's packed seperatly and brand new!! Nimh nicad and all liquid cells are banned from postage no matter what condition they are in. I think I might just refund the guy and sell it again collection only or no battery's.
  4. Hi all. I have recently sold a Vintage Futaba radio set and servos including its built in battery and a seperate nimh Rx battery. Trouble is I can't find anyone that will post it!! Does anyone have any suggestions on how to post such an item?? I have tried Parcel Farce and Hermes with no joy.
  5. Forget about weight!! C of G is about balance. The more weight you place on the tail the further back the balance point will travel. Therefore to move the balance point forwards you must add weight to the nose or preferably remove weight from the tail. On a side note that model looks to have a parallel chord wing along with a short tail and a shoulder mounted wing. I would go 30% from the leading edge.
  6. Are we voting for a special plan for this years Autumn special ?? or have i already missed it.
  7. Posted by Daithi O Buitigh on 08/03/2015 23:30:18: "...an RS232 port now also a thing of the past. ..." Actually it's not. RS232 ports are still being used for rig control on ham radio transceivers (albeit it's usually a USB <> RS232 converter).. Dabs also sell a PC Express RS232 card and they also sell USB <> parallel adapters and PCI parallel interface cards Both my laptops have RS232 connectivity ports and converters as its used to connect to phone systems for Diagnosis of faults. Trouble we have is people want to keep equipment that was installed 8-10 years ago as it's expensive to replace. Yet technology has moved on rapidly making their perfectly functional equipment redundant.

BNF! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321690387015?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 I would literally snap your hand off for that I love those old Funflys😍 but you are just too far away. 😞😞😞
  9. Posted by John Privett on 15/11/2013 21:56:58: As far as I can see all the seller has done (good result Bearair) is to remove the words Boat and Car from the description. Meaning that it will be no easier or more difficult for anyone wanting the radio for its proper, legal purpose to find it, and less likely that a newby boat/car person may find it and bid on it not realising the issues. So I don't see how this will help the seller get a good price or make this less of a bargain. If anything it will reduce the selling price as part of his (illegitimate) target audience has gone. To be fair his new title is not much better and he has amended the description that clearly none of you actually read!!, but to re explain myself had you searched ''plane controller'' before the amendment you would not of seen the advert, anyone looking at boats would of seen the item but would not be interested in the item as its for aircraft. Now a greater percentage of people that are interested in ''planes'' will now see the advert meaning more interest and bids. As for newbies and ''illegitimate target audience'' There is not a chance on earth in this stone age that a newbie in the boating world would buy this item, they would all buy a ready to run out of the box job just like they do when they want an rc spitfire. Oh and it would defiantly be on 2.4 not 35mhz
  10. Posted by Bearair on 15/11/2013 21:35:15: After I sent a message to the vendor explaining the situation he has amended the advert. Result! Yes for the seller!! now its advertised correctly he will have a better chance of selling it at a good price and you or i will have to pay more to buy it making it no longer a bargain. What a result.
  11. Posted by Bearair on 15/11/2013 21:05:27: No its like saying my old car does the job I need it to do, so the massive advantage it has over a Ferrari is about £100,000. Now that a huge advantage to me in the real world. Roger So what your saying is ; 'if i have a fleet of old zagis and a slightly warped gentle lady 35mhz is fine!!' yeh ok i agree with that.
  12. PS i would also love to know the so called advantages of 35mhz over 2.4. i won't except cost either as replacing a 3 meter moulded glider because i got shot down is not cost effective over replacing a few receivers, i estimate that the ratio of 2.4 to 35mhz at all the sites i visit is 99 to 1.
  13. Wow the ebay cougars are out again!! The advert is clearly incorrect, if you bother to read the description its describing a speed freaks car!! which is clearly not whats photographed. i grant that the title is a little misplaced by saying '' Digifleet Radio Controlled Car Boat Plane Controller Receivers Boxed USED''. The seller has used a technique here that gets more hits per search, as ebay searches via the title only for example you would not get that many hits if you just advertised it as a Digifleet radio set. A better Title would of been Used radio control Transmitter receiver 35mhz not futaba JR Sanwa, this would mean the advert would be seen by anyone using any of those key words. On another note the seller is clearly a dealer selling home clearance and stock returns and as a result knows nothing about RC. So please stop moaning and groaning and take advantage of getting what is clearly a very little used vintage transmitter advertised badly from someone who knows nothing about the item. If every advert was perfect no one would get a BARGAIN!!!
  14. Concorde Speedbird take a look at their latest video on the ''Neat Fair'' they attended, reviews don't get more honest or damning than this. Magazines and channels over here could learn a lot from some actual honest journalism instead of just trying to appease the sponsors.
