  1. Obvious question - Did you Download the Database? Les
  2. Hi Wendy I've had a 'Google' and have come across a few variations of 'aluminised bubble wrap' - some cheap and some expensive - so would you let me know which supplier you used? Regards, Les

Terry - just make sure that your SD card isn't SDHC and isn't greater than 2GB. A 'SanDisk 2GB' worked OK for me Les

Are you using the Futaba 'File System Utility' on your PC ? The 8FG uses a file system that is different from a general PC file system (FAT, NTFS etc) so you can't move/copy the data between the SD card and PC by using the normal Windows 'Tools'. Look for the FILE SYSTEM UTILITY (438 KB) - updated July 29, 2010 Download 12FG and 8FG data to PC **LINK HERE**
  5. Flaperon mixing (FP) This function allows the ailerons to be used both as ailerons and as flaps. The flap control dial (CH 6) operates the flap function If I remember correctly then I set up Spoilerons using the above FP function Hope that helps Les
  6. It looks like mine is from the same batch then........it likes to talk whenever the battery gets low.   It first woke me up in the early hours of one morning with......."You have reached your destination"!   Now that was a bit scary.....and thought provoking

Hi Barry Malcolm Holt has written some excellent on-line pdf guides for the 8FG, and they've been invaluable to me as I've come from the 6EX to the 8FG   If you're still at the early stages then this would be a good place to start -   here   Malcolm 'translates' the Manual into everything you'll need to know on how to program a new model.   Hope that helps Les  Edited By Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator on 29/10/2011 20:17:23

If you have a 12 Channel receiver then make sure that the 8FG 'Frequency' is not set to 7 Chan but to MULTI or MLT2.   The 8FG Firmware Version 3.0 onwards gives the options of 7CH, MULTI and MLT2. MULTI gives 8 Channels + two non-proportional digital channels and 4 Virtual Channels. MLT2 gives 12 Channels + two non-proportional digital channels (no Virtual Channels).   Have a look at the excellent 'Supplemental Notes' by Malcolm Holt at http://futaba8fg.wikidot.com/
  9. Thanks for the link Danny.......nice   Cheers Les
  10. Hi Danny Thanks for sharing your efforts......a great job.   As an ARTF guy (so far) I found it very interesting and informative.......such that I might even consider a 'real' kit now   Cheers Les
  11. It's the obvious choice....BUT they don't make them any more.....and I did trawl eBay at the time....but no luck. I eventually found the one that Danny recommended (thanks fella)....though the price had risen considerably. Thanks for your thoughts
  12. Hi Gavin If weight, size and even cost aren't a problem then I'd also suggest the HD one......to be on the 'safe side'. HTH
  13. I guess that a bit more info is needed. So....what's the specs of the two switches that you're considering? Can you post links to them?
