  6. Thanks John... Just need to fit it out now..
  7. A bit more progress. Not much done last week because of the cold. A colour scheme that could have been designed by Barbie ?
  8. Hi Martin I am still flying mine, it is remarkably rugged. Its not a national contest winner but its great for club level events. The only downside with it is that it just wont spin. Upright or inverted.... Tried moving the CG, increasing the throws, it just mushes at the stall etc. The best I get is a slow spiral.
  9. For the past 2 weeks, I have not received any notification emails from the MF website, either for updates to subscribed threads or notifications for Personal Messages. The problem is definitely not at my end, I run a private domain with my own SMTP/Mail system so I can check all mail delivery attempts from the SMTP receive log files. I can spot mail that has been detected by the spam filter and discarded etc. Nothing has being received by my SMTP gateway since 16:47 on the 13/01/2021 2021-01-13T16:47:16.221Z,SPICA\Default SPICA,08D853FB180A7C2C,34,192.168.0.10:25,92.63.128.120:65018,<,MAIL FROM:<[email protected]>, 2021-01-13T16:47:16.221Z,SPICA\Default SPICA,08D853FB180A7C2C,35,192.168.0.10:25,92.63.128.120:65018,*,08D853FB180A7C2C;2021-01-13T16:47:16.065Z;1,receiving message 2021-01-13T16:47:16.221Z,SPICA\Default SPICA,08D853FB180A7C2C,36,192.168.0.10:25,92.63.128.120:65018,>,250 2.1.0 Sender OK, 2021-01-13T16:47:16.237Z,SPICA\Default SPICA,08D853FB180A7C2C,37,192.168.0.10:25,92.63.128.120:65018,<,RCPT TO:<[email protected]>, 2021-01-13T16:47:16.284Z,SPICA\Default SPICA,08D853FB180A7C2C,38,192.168.0.10:25,92.63.128.120:65018,>,250 2.1.5 Recipient OK, Posted by Danny Fenton... Please MF Techies - can you investigate? # Thanks Martyn
  10. Just checked, I do not appear to have received any notification on any MF topic since the 13th January. Can someone send me a test PM please and then reply on this post so I don't get 3000 pms ? LOL I'll See if that works? Thanks Martyn
  11. Apologies all For some reason, I have not been receiving notifications for this thread. Working from the top. the fuselage and belly have been glassed and I am sanding down get ready for primer. Unfortunately, I have to paint outdoors and its been far too cold this past few days. This Saturday coming is looking slightly better though, fingers crossed for no snow or frost and I'll get the hi build primer on. The FB site is 'Open' which means that non FB users should be able to see all the content PROVIDING posters set the privacy of their posts to public. Most do but its something outside my control. The UKCAA site went down for a couple of days, maybe longer. This was caused by a change in DNS that I wasn't notified about. once fixed, it takes about half a day for the change to propagate. Its all OK now and I am sorry for the loss of service.. On Mystic I am finalising the last version of the plan ready for release. There are still a couple of drawing errors that don't match what I built and that has caused me to be a bit perplexed (or tearing my hair out!). I'll now try and fix the notifications on this.... Best wishes Martyn
  12. If you drop Steve an email, he will provide you with a photo but I agree that its frustrating they are not readily available
  13. Thanks kc I'll see what they have got. If we have to make our own plug, I'll log it with Steve at Vortex..
  14. Yes, it's coming from Sarik, hopefully. I will happily measure it for your perusal Martyn
  15. Cheers Andy I never really thought about the Awot. However, I don't think it will be long enough although the shape looks OK. It really needs to be about 335l x 85h x 90w. I may get away with slightly shorter - say 300mm but I can see this is going to be a challenge Martyn
  16. A little while since I last posted. The Mystic and Christmas have distracted me a little but I have made some more progress on this while waiting for glue to dry. A couple of weeks before Christmas, I managed to get a second coat of silver on the model (outdoors) which was a minor disaster unless you like milky silver. Basically it was cold, I left it too late and the finish bloomed badly. Fortunately, I did manage to fix it by spraying on a coat of cellulose thinners then getting the model back into the comparative warmth of the shed. Hey presto, no blooming and a lovely flat silver finish. Not much done over Christmas but I have made a start on the metalwork in the past few days. Nearly all litho. Feeling quite pleased but I still have the tricky bits to do. Some photos.. The gun troughs are done with mick Reeves self adhesive foil. They will get redone in lith. And More to come Martyn
  17. Thanks both Apparently, the Illusion f3a of the same era has a very similar canopy so I have one of those on order to evaluate. If its no good then it looks like we will have to make a plug. No pipe on this one John. We have a bit of a noise problem at our local field and it has been deemed that the exhaust note from a tuned pipe is too harsh, despite the model meeting the 82dbA noise limit requirement. It's the reason why I shrunk the plan from 68 inches to use a standard sport engine. Os55ax has been selected but I think almost any 61 sized modern schneurle ported sport engine that will turn a 12x8 or 11x9 at 10k should be ok
  18. I miss lite span as well.. No idea what the replacement is. To make matters worse, esaki jap tissue is now no longer available According to some of the specialist ff forums, an alternative is dime shop tissue. Poundland or equivalent in the UK. Need to check its wet strength though. Some of theses tissues simply dissolve in water
